Sometimes I don’t get it. I read a verse and it makes no sense to me. I read it again, thinking I’ll get it the second time around. Nope. It doesn’t click. Why can’t I understand what Jesus is trying to say? What’s wrong with me?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Geometry was a concept I did not get; at all. What I needed was someone who did understand it; I needed them to reveal to me what it meant.

David said in Psalm 119:73 “Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.” NIV (emphasis mine)

Like David, I’m saying to God, “You’re the one who made me this way, so give me understanding to get You!”

That is one request He can’t wait to fulfill! John 14:26 tells us “”But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” NASB

The Holy Spirit is our own personal tutor. He is the helper who will teach us all things! Teach here in the Greek is didasko meaning instruct.

How exciting! When I sit down to read His word, I am not alone. The Holy Spirit, living in me, is right there ready to instruct me. All I have to do is ask.

Take Jesus up on this promise, friends. The Holy Spirit is a gift from the Father to us; a person we so often ignore yet a most valuable friend.

Have an amazing weekend! I’ll be posting pictures from the “Revolutionary Love” conference on my FaceBook. We’re going to have a great time in Louisanna this weekend!

I have a hard time trying to understand the Bible and thought it was just my simple mind that could not understand. I know I need to access the Holy Sprit's help. But I do not always do that .So I pray that He will always give me insight into His understanding.

  2. Praying for the Revolutionary Love conference: for you to be used mightily and for those girls to know Jesus as their ALL!

  3. Dear Friend,

Don't give up! His word is so full of amazing truth! It is worth digging for.

I got a new study Bible for my birthday. That has helped so much. You might try that too!
