New Year’s is just around the corner. Resolutions are made. Goals are set. New calendars purchased. It’s the right time.

The right time for what? Our children’s pastor spoke this past Sunday on not waiting. Many of us are waiting. Waiting for God to move. Waiting until…you name it. After the service, I had the luxury of finishing the book “A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael” by Elisabeth Elliot

“Make us Thy labourers,
Let us not dream of ever looking back,
Let not our knees be feeble, hands be slack,
O make us strong to labour, strong to bear,
From the rising of the morning til the stars appear.” – Amy Carmichael

I am challenged by the life of this missionary from Ireland who spent her entire life in South India without a furlough. I am challenged to not wait; not to waste a single day being passive. He has something for us TODAY. Someone for us to serve. Someone who needs to be loved and encouraged.

Enjoy your New Year’s celebration this year and know that HE has something for you this day; this year!

Happy New Year’s!

  1. Oh Lynn, I too don't want the regret of a missed opportunity. The Lord came to give us life, and we need to live it to the full.

I have saved a little paper with the following thoughts. It seems to fit well with your post.

    Value Every Minute
    By: Author Unknown

To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute: Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one second: Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

    Tme waits for no one.

Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special.

So glad for the times I have shared with you this past year. Treasured moments.
    Happy New Year,
    With love & prayers,
    Joy
