5 Days to Unshakeable Confidence {Giveaway Day}

If you are joining me here today from Proverbs 31 Ministries’ Encouragement for Today If Only welcome! Let’s continue to connect, ok? It’s easy! Just sign up to get my posts automatically by clicking here. I’d also love to connect with you more on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest too!

In my devotion today I shared:

“There will be times in our lives over and over again when our confidence is challenged .”

All too often, those times are when we silently finish the sentence: “If only …”

I’m sure you have your own completion to that thought and maybe like me, those inner whispers try to pull you under at times, especially when you step out to make a new move in your relationship with God.

These very whispers are the reason we need to build a strong and stable foundation for our confidence in Christ and Christ alone. When the whispering winds of “If only …” breeze through our hearts and minds, we must be ready to finish this sentence with faith!

Are you ready to get ready, friend?

If so, join me for 5 Days to Unshakeable Confidence, a FREE online challenge beginning Monday, October 30. I’ll be sharing daily live videos in our private Facebook community plus free downloads to inspire you! Sign up below to join the challenge and you’ll receive all the details in your email today.

Giveaway

I’m so excited today to share with one of you the first copy of my new Bible study for women “Make Your Move; Finding Unshakeable Confidence Despite Your Fears and Failures”. In fact, I haven’t even gotten my first copy yet, but when I do, one of you will get it!

Make Your Move: Finding Unshakeable Confidence Despite Your Fears and Failures is a six-session Bible study, where I explore how confidence-in-question keeps us from boldly experiencing what God intends for our lives. Dive into six stories in the Bible of not-so-well-known women who found themselves needing confidence to make their move, and how they uncovered the faith to get it. Here I encourage women to leave behind all the unnecessary insecurity this world induces and find confidence in God alone.

Learn from the Daughters of Zelophehad, the Women of Exodus, the Sisters of Bethany, Rahab, Deborah, Abigail and Michal how to:

  • Intentionally build your confidence on the one thing that cannot be taken from you.
  • Recover from defeating decisions to move forward toward a strong self-worth.
  • Position yourself to not lose your poise—even in the worst circumstances.
  • Identify and address the fears that keep you stuck, with practical steps to walk in your calling with confidence.

This study is for any woman who’s ready to dig into God’s Word to find confidence and boldness to do great things. This book includes personal Bible study as well as group discussion questions. The study can be completed by individuals as well as in groups.

Designed for use with the companion Make Your Move DVD (sold separately). It’s all released on November 14th!

I would love to win this series. I have signed up to get started. I am currently at a point in my life where I am not sure what or where I am supposed to do/be. I have prayed and am trying my best to listen to God’s direction. There are times I feel so useless as I don’t know where I am supposed to be.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Friend – you are never useless! There may be times when we are in transition or times of waiting, but even those are not wasted! Hang in there … James 1:5 tells us that if we ask God He will give us the wisdom we need. Ask and know that it is just around the corner!

Thank you for this devotional and I am looking forward to the upcoming study.

Feelings of doubt back around to God praise, it spoke to my heart this morning.
I would love to do this Bible study with a young mom that I am friends with.

  37. I would love for both of my daughters to join me in this.

Guilt -I can’t seem to shake it….I can repeat ( and love) scriptures that affirm: Jesus Paid it all, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus….so why do I feel so guilty over my past sins (and I was a follower of Christ back then… and, some of the things happened in the not so distant past).

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Tammy – what you are experiencing is condemnation.

Last week I read Romans 8 over and over and over again.

“So there is now no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 For the power of the life-giving Spirit—and this power is mine through Christ Jesus—has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death. 3 We aren’t saved from sin’s grasp by knowing the commandments of God because we can’t and don’t keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours—except that ours are sinful—and destroyed sin’s control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins.” verses 1 – 4

The enemy knows that if he can keep us hung up on sins – last year, last week and last hour – that he can keep us stuck and that is his strategy. If he can keep us swirling with the thoughts of our past sins, we won’t move on to do the work Christ died to give us. The work of helping others find freedom in Christ as well.

You are doing the right thing – replacing those thoughts with truth. Remind the enemy when he comes at you that he is a liar. What he is accusing you of is not true – you are forgiven, you are loved and you belong to our Father. You are His daughter, not because of anything you have done, but because of EVERYTHING Christ has done for us!

  38. Cathy Burnett says:

My sister-in-law is having some serious battles at this time in her life. I love her so much and we are trying to keep Bible Study going because it helps us to remember the truths of God’s love and grace. I keep telling her that God is going to take care of everything. Prayers always.

  58. joanna Kearns says:

the person I would like to join me on this journey is my friend Anita Penna

  59. I would want to share it with my colleague Z. She is in her late 30s now and several times in the last couple of months she has shared with me how absolutely disappointed she is with how her life turned out (professional, but more so personal). She often feels depressed about it and demotivated. I want to encourage her in some way, and find a way for her to see God and His love in the midst of this ‘dark scenario’.
I also have been going through some hard seasons in my work and personal life in the last 5-7years which has left me even afraid to dare to hope for a ”happy resolution of the circumstances’. Every time I try to be sincerely hopeful something else ”bursts” which makes me think ”but of course. how silly was it of me to hope that it would turn out differently this time”, but I also don’t want to turn into a bitter/depressed person myself.

  60. My dear friend Lynn M comes to mind to share this with. We’ve been friends since our junior high days, and as I’m now a grandmother that’s a long time. 🙂 Not sure how I’d approach her about it, but I’d love to share it with her. Winning it would, if nothing else, force me to figure out the approach, right!?

  61. I am so looking forward to the 5 days! Anxiety and confidence has always been a struggle for me. I would love to have my BFF, Rosemary do this along side me.

  62. Missy Langford says:

How exciting! I’m signed up and I’d love to do this with my best friend LouAnn.

  63. Bernadette Webb says:

    Dear Lynn,
I am not sure what to write, I just have the need to do so. Everything around me in caving in. I have been reading about different ministries and how they could help me and my question would be if I get help, how am I to help others when I can’t stop crying and stop being angry because of what has transpired in my life. I don’t take without giving in return. I want to become a better person and I am reaching out to God, praying, or maybe just having a conversation with God. I think having a conversation with God is where I start, or is it? What do I do? Maybe getting confidence would help?

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Bernadette – healing is a process. For some that process is not quick. The key, though, is to make progress. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You’ll go forward and then sometimes you may fall back. Just keep making progress. Get back up again. Interacting every day with the Holy Spirit is the key. The more we spend time with Him, the more we will see our hearts healed and our lives changed. Yes … conversations are the start. It’s not really any more complicated than that. We interact with our cell phones…let’s make it a goal to interact with Christ more than our phones!

      1. Bernadette Webb says:

Thank you for your encouraging words. I am looking forward and not behind to making my relationship with Christ.

We recognize that we both have alot to be grateful for, but we would both like to move into this next phase WITH CONFIDENCE-that we are doing the right thing and to have the confidence to do it well. Thank you!

  75. I would love to share with my daughter. She has been through a lot in life and is turning into an amazing young woman who trust God.

  76. Thank you so much for doing this giveaway. This study is very much needed for so many of us women. !! The one person I would like to see become more confident would have to be my very strong willed wise beyond her teenage years daughter who is about to turn 18 and go on her very first mission trip. Shannon Hoopaugh.

  77. I am sharing this with my 3 daughters. Having grown up with an alcoholic father, they each have areas in their life that a growing confidence in their relationship with Christ would help.

  80. Cathy Dresen says:

I’d love to do this with my daughter!

  81. I really need this in my life right now…recently, my husband confessed having cheated on me about 10 years ago. I am so lost and confused…I feel like I no longer know who I am. Was everything in my life a lie? What was actually real? What did I do wrong? We have 3 beautiful children and went to church together every Sunday…yet somehow I couldn’t keep my marriage together! I suspected something at the time; but thought, “No! My husband is a good Christian who adores me. I’m being paranoid.” Now I spend day after day wondering what I should have done differently. I am defeated. I have no faith in myself. And I feel so far away from my God and His comfort.

    Thank you for listening.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Oh Allison, my heart breaks for you. Your husband’s actions were his choice and are not a reflection of the beautiful, God-inspired woman that you are. The confidence we gain in Christ is not built on someone, some place or something. On Him alone. I know He has completed healing and confidence restoration for you!

      1. Thank you, Lynn…I have to remind myself to look inward and upward to find my strength. I realize now that a lot of the reason I feel so lost is because I’ve built my life around a person (my husband). And not that he’s not worthy of love or our relationship didn’t need dedication; but I was too focused on “worldly things.” Even now I’m turning to him (my husband) for explanations instead of turning to HIM for strength.

“Greater is He than is in me, than he that in the world.”

Thank you for your comfort and prayers…God Bless!

  82. Tammy Terry says:

I would love for my cousin Ashlee to go thru this with me as we both have a lack if confidence at times.

  83. Mary King says:

I need to do this study! I would like to do it with my aunt.

  84. Tanya Tomasovich says:

I just became a widow in May at the age of 56 years young. We had no children. We were together 30 years. I went from living at home with my parents to getting married. This is the first time ever I have been alone. I need God to get through this. He has been my strength and my salvation. I need confidence to know I can be on my own, and be ok. I would like to do this with my sister Debi. She is struggling with some serious health issues. We both can benefit from this study. Thank you for your consideration. God Bless.
