9 Prayers to Pray for Your Girl

9 Prayers to Pray for Your Girl

Today my youngest girl heads back to college while my middle begins her last semester of her senior year of college. All very good reasons to keep the prayers going up!

Please join me over the next 9 days as we focus each day on prayers to pray for our girls!

  1. I will pray for your daughters. Please pray for mine. She is a junior in high school and in a somewhat rebellious phase…

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

      Thank you, Luci!

Lord, thank you for the gift you have given Luci in her girl. Open her eyes, Lord, to see where each and every decision she makes will take her. Turn her heart, her will and her course to head straight into Your arms and Your will. Amen

  2. The details are sad… very sad. My adult girl is the mother of three beautiful boyz. I raised my daughter as a single parent (we were not just abandoned by her father at her birth …. we were cruelly rejected). I cared for my parents while trying to simultaneously raise my daughter and work to support us – I didn’t do well at any of them – spread way too thin. Today I see my girl suffer the consequences of us having no support system, no family and little hope. I have been praying since I was a little girl – I am now 66 years old. I do not feel that God hears my prayers or as some would say, it will happen in God’s time …. my response, “but Lord it has been 55 years of praying.” I have faith in Jesus, I continue to pray, but the sadnesses continue….. with few, if any, moments of relief. It is often a challenge for me to read the stories of GiG or P 31 women whose lives seem to eventually find success and peace through the crisis. I ask, “When will it be my/our turn, Lord?”
Thus, I ask this community of devoted women tp prayer earnestly for my daughter, Jen, and my three truly loving little guys, Liam, Aiden and Collin.
    With appreciation,
    Diane

Dear Diane – I know from the outside looking in, life for many of us looks one way. We try to be as vulnerable as we can, but you know, our stories – the stories of our kids, our families and our lives – cannot always be told in full because they are also the stories of other people.

Please know, my personal story – the one I am walking through today – is not filled with success as many would define success. Like you, I am a mother who keeps praying and praying and praying. I am a mother who is believing and has faith, that though it is taking so much longer than I want, He will answer the cries of this mother’s heart. I know He hears us, Diane! I wills stand and pray with you!

      Jesus,

We pray because as Hebrews 11:1 tells us “faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen.” I believe that You are daily pursuing Jen, Liam, Aiden and Collin. Though the steps may be tiny, we trust, that their lives are in the process of being in a place where they are coming to salvation and wholeness in You. We know that You will not let us down, Our King. You love us and You love those of us that we love. Amen

Please pray for my daughter and myself and her precious little boy. My daughter has mental health issues and has spiraled out of control. I don’t know that we’ve ever gotten a correct diagnosis and meds are definitely not working. She has recently been involved in drug use and very risky behaviors. She says she is a believer but my prayer is that the shackles be broken from her eyes and she truly finds Jesus. Her son was born out of wedlock with no interest from dad. I’m just praying for her to be stable and find the love of Christ. My heart has been shattered so many times it’s not repairable. I do know that God can heal and restore and redeem anything and that is my prayer.

I’m praying for each of you.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Thank you so much for sharing, friend.

I know when mental illness is involved, life is so much more complicated.

Father, thank you for this precious family. I pray that you will give her daughter the desire to be healthy mentally, Lord. As she moves toward health, may she also move toward having a healthy relationship with You as well. Restore what the enemy has stolen and may he no longer be able to kill, steal and destroy this family. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen
