A Safe Place

Every body needs a safe place. A place where they can let out how they are feeling about the tough things that they are going through. Every one needs a place where they are not judged, looked down upon or held to every thing they say. I used to think that those who shared this way were weak, possibly even sinning. Until this past week. The Lord showed me Job. Job went through the worst of the worst. He expressed exactly how he felt about it in Job 7:11 “Therefore, I will not keep silent; I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.” Job needed that safe place and you know, it must have been ok because the Word says that in all that Job went through, he did not sin. Maybe the difference was Job’s attitude about why he was going through it all.

In my past, I have not been that safe place for some. I have not been one who others could talk to to just let it all out. I have not been the friend, wife or mom that just listens, not judging, correcting or giving advice. But now I see things so differently. I want to be the one who can listen, care and show compassion. I know that this can only come from Him. I want to be the one who shows His heart of mercy to those who are in need.
