All of Me

This past Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to share with the women of The Body from Rock Hill, South Carolina. The title of my message was “More-Than-Human Wonder Woman”. Isn’t that exactly what our society tells us to be? Or as Kelly Rippa says in her Electrolux commercial “And you can be even more amazing” after we have just watched her work full-time, have a dinner party, feed her kids and all their friends dinner and tuck her kids in bed all in a normal day. Somehow, I don’t think that standard is what the Father had in mind.

This morning, I was reflecting from a book called “Authentic Beauty” by Leslie Ludy. Leslie shares “Faithfully and gently, He began to show me how to walk through the day with Him, rather than just representing Him. I learned to inwardly talk to Him throughout the day, as I drove to work, as I interacted with the world around me, and as I drifted off to sleep at night. And I learned to inwardly listen to His soft voice, tuning my heart to hear Him throughout the day. From that point on, the adventure began.” (p. 206)

That is the place I am moving toward…being with Him and in His presence all day long. It is a wonderful thing when we become disciplined and have time with Him in our lives each day, but is that His highest for us?

As I was brushing my teeth this morning, I had a thought: Do I tithe my time to God like I tithe my money? They are both something to be invested; should I treat them the same in my “giving”?

Then there is my God. Challenging me this morning. He doesn’t want me to tithe my time – He wants it all. His plan is not for me to learn to give Him more; He wants all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength. For my sake and for His glory!
