Oh what I am learning from purging, friends! If you missed my Wednesday’s post, the day #ThePurge began, you might want to click here first.
What a mess I had on Tuesday!
This room looked SO different! Now, THIS feels so good today!
I haven’t yet grasped the whole concept of the capsule wardrobe, but I can tell you already, I think it is a wise thing for us as women to investigate and teach to our girls!
The concept of more, more, more – more clothes, shoes, bags – seeps into our minds and hearts at every turn. Whether it is the online shoe store offering $39.95 plus buy one get one or Pandora streaming an ad through your phone, the marketing technique is the same.
The bigger the wardrobe, the bigger the happy factor. Really?
I’m not thinking so. Let’s begin to wrestle with our wardrobes and the desires driving our spending until we find contentment and the peace that God calls magnetic. Because you know a woman who doesn’t need to own a closet full of clothes is a woman who is going to draw some attention. And a girl who understands the uncommon characteristic of contentment is going to be one, gorgeous girl!
You’ve got a weekend ahead of you, friend! So go for it. And please – tag me on your social media! I would love to celebrate your progress with you! Let’s share our pictures on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest. Use #ThePurging.
HAPPY FRIDAY FRIEND!
Oh…and if you want to know what I kept for this spring, here it goes:
19 shirts (confession – 4 are white t’s and 4 are black t’s)
2 maxi skirts
4 jackets (2 jean – one white and one blue)
A pile of jeans (Another honest confession – I believe I kept 11! 4 are black jeans alone! Still working on my issues.)
4 pair of shorts
Yes – short of 37, but I am feeling really good about it!
