Compassion International

One life changing one life. So little from us can change so much.
Yesterday, I received an email from Compassion International sharing with our Proverbs 31 team sharing tremendous news! In the past two years that Proverbs 31 has partnered with Compasssion Interational 882 child have been sponsored! Take a moment to watch this video of Proverbs 31’s trip to Equador:

How exciting. In fact, in 2009, Compassion had their one million child sponsored. That is the power when one life changes one life.

I was reminded of God’s heart for the poor in my reading today: “…he was just and right in all his dealings. That is why God blessed him. He gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isnt’ that what it means to know me? says the Lord.” Jeremiah 22:15b – 16

My connection with Compassion began when I was in high school. I decided to sponsor a child on my own. To be impacting another life empowered me. That sweet little girl received the things she needed until she got married. My family now sponsors an adorable little girl in Uganda. Her name is Scarleth. Just last week, she drew me a special picture of a garden and wrote us a letter through her translator,
“Dear sponsors Mr. and Mrs. Greg Cowell,
Receive many blessings from our God. The child Scarleth greets you, very happy to know that we are writing this letter. The child is very smart and faithful to the project, she likes to participate in all the activities. In December we gave her a Christmas present and she felt very happy. Now that she started classes they gave her a backpack with school material and she was very happy. She thanks God and you for your love to this project. She enjoys the monthly birthdays we celebrate at the project. She likes pinatas, candies and everything we give her at the project. She asks you to pray for her family. The childs says good-bye and she says she has you in her heart, she sends you strong hugs and many kisses.

How very, very sweet! As you get your child ready for back to school, would you consider helping another child not only get ready for school, but get ready for life? Just scroll down to the end of the blog and click on the Compassion button on the side and find out how you can impact one life with your one life! or go to:
