Do That?

I really couldn’t believe God would ask me to do that.

It couldn’t be more obvious it was Him doing the asking though.

For the past few years I had dreamed of nothing but going to a Christian college, getting my degree in Christian counseling and marrying a pastor. White picket fences, small house with children and a dog – my American dream.

Now, college move in was just weeks away. My roommate was assigned and I was ready to go. But first my family was taking a vacation…half way across America. From Iowa to North Carolina, we were heading to the big city of Charlotte. For those of you unfamiliar with road trips of that length…we’re talking 16 hours of me, Dad, Mom and my little brother.

To help time to pass; I threw in random reading material, including a magazine from Last Days Ministries. This ministry was founded by Keith Green, who had recently died in an plane crash.

As we started the long trek, the reading began. One article in particular stood out to me. “If You Want to Be Great in God’s Kingdom, Learn to Be a Servant” This title grated against my heart. I wanted to be in ministry; what I thought ministry was. I wasn’t so sure about the servant part.

Once we arrived in Charlotte, we attended a service with James Robison preaching. His topic: becoming a servant. Really God? Two times in two days? I responded to a call to come forward to become God’s servant. I wasn’t really sure what that meant. I did know it meant a change in my heart.

A few days later, I opened the magazine once more to discover an ad on the back page: “Come and Serve at Last Days Ministries”. The picture didn’t have one thing appealing to me. The big red shed, the mass of hippish people (come on…it’s the ’80’s) and a ranch looking back drop. I couldn’t ignore the thump in my heart. This was what being a servant was going to mean for me.

I said “yes” to God and have never regretted one day of that decision.

“Yes” to learning His way instead of the college way.

“Yes” to moving nearly a thousand miles from home.

“Yes” to a new way of doing His work.

The blessings in my life far outweigh any heartache I felt that summer as I called my college and removed my registration, the pain I experienced as I told my serious boyfriend and the fear I went through going into the unknown.

When we say “yes” to God, and model and teach our girls to say “yes” to God, we open doors for God to move in and through us in ways we couldn’t even dream up ourselves.

I am so excited that Lysa TerKeurst and her daughter Hope have given us a resource to encourage our girls to say “yes” to God – “When Young Women Say “Yes” to God“. Lysa has generously given three copies of her new book to be given away today!

To enter to possibly win one of these books, click on comments below (or head to www.LynnCowell.com) and share what area do you pray your girl will say “yes” to God! And if you’re on the run, just say, “I’m in!”

Life and that others will see Jesus in them!

  6. Thankful that at age 9, my daughter Faith has a heart to not hear any words that are not honoring to God! I love that she feels strongly that people should not use God’s name in vain! I’m praying that she will continue to say yes to God in all areas of her life and that even now she will run after God and pursue a life lived for him each and every day we get to live for Him!

  7. I have, and have read about four times, What Happens When Women Say Yes to God. i LOVE this book and the encouragement. I can honestly say it has changed my life. I pray that my daughters say yes to God simply in following His will for their life. It is so easy to get bogged down in worldly things, but God has better for them.

Would love to win this and do it as a study with my girls.

  8. Loved your wise mom talk at Hearts at Home. My daughter is 7 and I’m in!

Welcome Wendy! So glad you like the Hearts talk! Learning to be wise together…

  9. I’m In! I have two little girls and I pray that they will be open to receiving Christ’s love in their hearts as they get older.

  10. My heart desire is that my daughter come to the point of stop listening to everybody and listen to what Jesus is speaking to her and realize that life is full of opportunities when she put Jesus in the center of every decision that she makes pertaining to her life. She’s currently 16 years old and because of listening to other people she is currently in the Foster Care System. I longed for the day that I will get to see her face-to-face and really talk about things that caused her to turn to the life that she think it is so meaningful. I know there is a lot of healing that needs to be in placed yet I’m big enough to do whatever Jesus has for her life and my life.

  11. I pray my daughter will say YES to Jesus being everything to them, So that they will not need people’s approval to live a life of God-confidence!
And THANK YOU for this =)

  12. Pam Morris says:

  24. Please enter me in your drawing! 🙂 Would love to get this for my daughter. The Lord really is doing amazing things in her life and calling her in a special way. 28. Tish McNeill says:

I have 2 daughters, 15 and 10 years old, and we have recently started doing devotions together at bedtime and I have seen them both grow so much in the past month. I would love to have one of these books to use during our devotion time. My prayer for both my girls are that they would stand strong on God and in His word. I am trying really hard to teach my girls they don’t have to experience what the world tries to make look appealing. I tell friends all the time, “the world will not take my girls without a fight”! I am trying to teach them it is ok to be different.

Thanks for the emails and devotions! I Pray God Blesses you!

  29. I have three daughters all together: 22, 12, and 8. Up until four years ago, I used to pray that my daughters would live to serve God. And then, it struck me that the better prayer would be for them to love God more than anything else. By putting Him first and foremost in their hearts, everything else would have to fall into place.

  30. So blessed to have 2 workshops with you at Hearts at Home. I’m so excited to be doing our “Breakfast and Bible” time since I’ve come home!! I’ve been praying so hard that she says “YES” to God’s in all directions of her life. The part I’m most focused on is her saying “Yes” and having friends who will also say “Yes” to Him. (I’ve already talked about the bullseye with her)

  31. My daughters are almost 16 and 10. I pray that whatever God calls them to do, wherever He calls them to go, they will have the ears to hear and the heart to say “yes”.

  32. I have two daughters, 13 and almost 15 years old. I’m thankful they are open to God and reading the Bible together. However, my prayer is that God would move in their hearts to love God first and foremost to seek Him instead of their own desires.

  33. My daughter is 14 and has already been affected by many hurts in this world… I want her to not just know Jesus, but experience Him and the importance of seeking Him daily and to know that His love is the deepest and most perfect love she will ever know!

  34. My daughter is only 9 1/2 months, but I want to begin to teach her NOW about the Truths of God and His Word. We are at a transition point in our family, and I need to learn to say “Yes” no matter what the outcome may be.

  35. This is the wish I have for my granddaughters that they will follow the Lord!!! I try to let them know whenever I can to rely on the Lord and ask for His wisdom and guidance when they are unsure if they feel something is not right!!! Because usually it isn’t and it isn’t the way the Lord wants them to go!

  36. My prayer for my daughter is that she says yes to God’s leading in her life. Whatever and wherever that might be. I have been telling my children for the last few years ~ the safest place to be is in the centre of God’s will.
Very excited to read this new book!
Thank you Lynn for your encouragement to raise godly daughters!

I know that their mothers love the Lord and I pray that these teachings may enter their hearts and bear much fruit. The world is so tough and we need to give our children all the armor we can……… the best armor of all is the Word of God. This sounds like a powerful book that will minister to our young girls as they become women of God.

I am in and would love to win this book for her as well as my 17 year old daughter who is the total opposite….the only thing I can think of that is different is my oldest lived with her father who was in her life and allowed her to do whatever she wanted while the father of my youngest wasn’t in her life and she was brought up by my current husband and I.

  65. I still consider myself to be young (25). I have been an EMT since I was 21 but I know the Lord has been wanting me to stay at home with our little girl and not go back to work. While I have stayed at home the last two years I am not going to lie I have thought about going back to work, it has been a temptation that while not bad it deffinately isn’t what the Lord wants me to do. My certifications are up for renewal this month and I am giving it all to the Lord and not renewing my certificates so that I can’t go back. I can honestly say that since I made that decision last week, we have had numerous answers to our prayers and I truly feel it is because I said yes to the Lord. I have tried my best to lead her on the right path in her life through homeschooling, faith teaching, and keeping an open line of communication about everything, and I do mean everything. 121. Mary Jannett says:

I would so love to win one of these copies. I enjoyed visiting with a dear friend of mine on the back deck last weekend. We enjoyed our time together so much. The conversation is always so wonderful, but something amazing happened in the midst of luncheon….. we ended up praying together and she received Christ as her personal savior. I think this would be a great inspiration for her new walk with the Lord!

  122. I want my daughter to say yes to God and listen for his direction.

  123. My prayer for all 9 of my daughters is that they have a servant’s heart.

  124. I have 3 daughters, ages 4,6 & 20. My hearts desire is for each
of them to say yes to following Jesus and make Him top
priority. College has been a huge distraction for my oldest. It can
be heartbreaking for a parent . However, I know that she has a
personal relationship with Him. I’m trusting that the Holy Spirit will
convict and she will respond positively! I know that God is in control
    and I’m trusting in Him!

  125. I’m in!!! Thanks for the chance to win this fabulous book.

  126. April Smith says:

Hi Lynn, I ‘m in. As soon as I saw this post on FB. This sounded like a tool God could use in my life , especially in this transition and waiting period coming straight out of college. And I want to learn more of what it means to be that ” Yes Girl” as I stand in the waiting period learning to follow with a constant faith, no matter the emotion. April

  127. April Smith says:

I know also that I’m not a mother but I am someones daughter. I just turned 23 and will be 24 in April. I could definitely use the encouragement. I also know that God has been challenging me in what it truly means to say yes. And when I saw this post. I so connected with what little I read. I want to learn also how to be open even things are not how I planned. Therefore , I’m in.

  128. April Smith says:

I’m not really sure how many posting you could make but I also relate so much to the transitions. I feel like this my story with Cumberland. This is where I attended college. I wanted to transfer but God kept me there. It was definitely a season of learning what it means to say yes when things don’t make sense at all. I don’t regret one bit of my journey but at the same time in the transition. I feel like I’m back at the question again” What now?” I know that you don’t know me personally but I would like to win this book because I feel like God could use it as a tool of encouragement. Especially because of where tons of transitions have came from my grandma dying last December to my sister getting married. I want to learn what it means to say yes even when your life feels like a circle. I don’t want to live on my fear. That is why I’m in and why I feel this could be a good source.

  129. Susan Rodriguez says:

I pray that my daughter will allow God to be her first true love and that she would come to know Him at an early age!

  132. I have 3 young daughters and am terrified of raising them in this broken world, especially the middle and high school years. I pray that they will stay true to themselves and remember who they are as a child of God and not give in to the pressures of the world. This book would be great to have!

  133. Candace Loyd says:

I look forward to saying yes to whatever God leads me to do! I’m in!

  136. I have two daughters in high school who face many many decisions in the next few years. I pray that they will choose to listen FOR God and listen TO him as he shares His plans for their future with them.

  137. Both of my daughters are in college. Both are wanting to teach highschool. My youngest has decided with our Pastors first sermon of the year, to use the sermon and “Go deeper with God “. My oldest is more spiritually mature than I was at that age. She has decided that she wants to go by the saying that she wants to be so into God that the guy that wants her has to go through God to get to her. I am so proud of them both.

  138. Camila gg says:

I am having trouble making my daughter be more connected to God. I would love to win the book so it can open a path for us to seek God together.

  139. I’m in! I want my younger sister to say yes to God in whatever way He calls her to. 🙂

  140. I have a grandaughter who will be 15 next week. I pray she will learn to hear God’s voice and seek his will for her life.

  141. My prayer has always been and continues to be that she will walk in the very center of God’s will for her life. In other words, I hope that she will always say yes to God and walk away from the distractions and entanglements of the world. They are numerous, loud, enticing, and blatantly in our faces at every turn.

  142. I have two daughters, 12 and 9. When I hear the statement, “saying “Yes” to God,” I always think of a beautiful, simple song by Jana Alayra that my girls learned when they were little…
“Jesus said “Yes”, Jesus said, “Yes”, Jesus said, “Yes” to the Father… I can say “Yes”, I can say “Yes”, I can say “Yes” to Him too!”
So I pray for my daughters to have an attitude of “not my will, but Thine,” just like Jesus, saying Yes to Him in everything.
    Thank you Lynn and Lysa!

  143. Yes, I’m in; not only for my own daughter, who is a junior in college, but also my Sunday School (5th & 6th grade) girls!

  144. Yes, I’m in; not only for my own daughter, who is a junior in college, but also my Sunday School (5th & 6th grade) girls! Thank you!

  146. My daughter is 14. She accepted Jesus in her life 3 years ago. My prayer for her daily is dealing with all the sinful and negative issues she runs across in school and the media each day. I pray for God to guide her and strengthen her faith.

  147. Lynn, I’m in and thanks for the opportunity. Would love to have this book to possibly share with my daughter who is 8. I also work with delinquents boys and girls, and I can’t talk “religion” to my clients due to policy. However I’m always talking to them about choices and self respect, self esteem, and empathy for others….sounds like topics for a great bible study group, huh? lol if only I could. So I just have to be crea tive in sharing Jesus with them.

    1. Barbara Dotson says:

      I’m In!!!!!

  148. Samantha Trueblood says:

Lynn, Thank you for this opportunity. I love her books! My daughter is 6. I pray for my daughter to always wait on God…wait for God to fill her desires of her heart, wait on God to help her see who her True Love is in Him, wait for God to provide her with the love of her life, wait for God to show her what direction in life He wants her to take, wait to make her first kiss to be with her husband, wait for God to reveal his plans for her in every aspect of her life.

  149. My prayer for my daughter is that she will say ‘yes’ to leaning in close and standing strong for Him in her public school environment; that she will say ‘yes’ to following hard after Him even when the pull of the crowd chooses the opposite direction; that she will say ‘yes’ to waiting for Him to reveal and roll out His plans for her life as she walks through her high school years.

Thank you Lynn, Lysa, and Hope!

  153. My prayer for my daughter is that she would say “Yes” to seeking and listening to God’s voice and will for her life and not the expectations others may place on her being that she is a P.K. At ten years old, she has already begun to experience comments and pressure to be a certain way.

  154. My girls are now 30,27,and 25. I have prayed everyday for them to grow and be God loving women. God has blessed me by answering that prayer. Now as a grandparent, and leader of our womens ministry, I am continually lifting up in prayer our mothers. Their challenges are so big and they need the encouragement to stand strong for Christ. Thanks so much for this ministry, your studies, and blogs.

  155. Nichole Wolland says:

I have 2 girls, 9 & 5. I am praying that they both listen to God and follow HIs plan for their lives, not mine, my husband’s or anyone elses’s.

  156. Praying my 15 year old daughter allows God to shape her and not others opinions.

They are old enough to be making major decisions and I have been looking for a way to help guide them in those decisions. I’m in!!

My parents have both died and I live far away from family. I know God has big plans for my daughter and me! I desire her to become allllllll that God created her to be!! Im in!!

  164. Cheri Engle says:

Thanks so much for doing this! I have 3 daughters, ages 24, 18, and 13! Not only do I have my daughters but, I have the privilege of challenging other parents daughters!
My hearts desire for my own girls, as well as these other precious girls is that they love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind, and that that love pours out on others! God bless!!!

  165. Cynthia Quiroga says:

I just want her to say “yes” to God in whatever area He speaks to her. Singing, showing compassion, patience. He has her best interest at heart every time. I try to lead her in the best I can, but my vision can be blurry, God’s never is.

    Thanks for having the giveaway.

  171. I don’t have kids, but I do have a 19 year old sister and I work with the the senior high age youth girls at my church. There is so much hurt, pain, and brokenness among these young women and it breaks my heart. I pray that they follow God’s path with them sooner, rather than later like I did. I pray that they have the courage to do what God is calling them to do, that they will tell the world “I am better than this”.

  172. I have been blessed with two daughters. One is nineteen and about 3 years ago she surrendered to be a mssionary. I hope she always listens to God for direction. She knows that God could call her at any moment or He could wait till she is 50. My second daughter is 12 and is very strong willed (like most heading to the teenage years). I want her to learn to hear God. To be still and feel His presence. Thank you for ofering free material.

  173. Christy Smith says:

  174. I have a 10 yr old daughter that has yet to decide to surrender her life to Christ. My prayer is that she sees that living a Christian life isn’t “boring, lame or a kill joy” but that it truly is a fun, loving, joyful life! Praying he can stand strong against peer pressure and live a life devoted to Him!

  175. Hello! I’m definitely in, and thanks for the opportunity!
I have an almost-17 year old daughter who is lacking confidence in her walk with Christ and, consequently, listens to lies. However, I also have two little girls, ages 5 and 3, who are watching, listening to, and learning everything their big sister does, as well as what their mommy does, too. We are four of “God’s girls” who need guidance!
Thank you, Lynn, Lysa, and Hope!

    I’m in!

I hope that someday my girls will say yes to God in everything, including turning to God in prayer rather than worrying about the increasing stresses of life: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (Philippians 4:6 –NLT)

  178. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of this book~would love to share it with our group of young women on Wed night, most of them from broken homes

  179. Praying my 18 yr old daughter will really grasp whatever plans He has for her future & her heart, whatever that means. I pray that she gives her YES wholeheartedly & trusts in His offers!

  180. I pray that my girls (and boys) will say “yes to God” by remaining pure in all areas of their lives.

  181. Thank you for sharing this book and the opportunity to win a copy. We have a group of middle school girls at our church on Wed night that could really benefit from this book~

  182. I don’t have any kids of my own yet. Hopefully someday God willing, but for now my prayer is for the girls who are my youth group girls that they would learn to see themselves as God sees them. My prayer is that they grow to have a great relationship with their mothers and fathers and that they have an even more special relationship with God. My heart is for them to know the importance of the relationships that they keep or don’t keep and how to tell the difference in the ones that they may need to break away from.

  183. Val Kuenkele says:

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity. As a single mom of three, I pray that I am consistently pointing my kids to God. My oldest daughter is 18 and autistic, my son and daughter are 10. Their earthly father has disappointed them on many occasions, and my youngest daughter seems to be affected the most. I talk with all of my kids daily about how our heavenly Father never leaves us and loves us immeasurably. I would love to read this book with my girls…so they can continue to serve the Lord and say Yes to Him.

  184. I am in ! I am hoping for a more deeper relationship that my children will say YES to loving God more and following Him more! We would love your book!

  185. Elizabeth Martindale says:

I prayed for true surrender to God in my daughters heart. It happened and when she did she was all in. God has called her to what she feared the most. A mission field…still waiting for where.

  186. I have two beautiful daughters, ages 21 and 23, who both moved away from home last year. I pray for them every day that they will make the choice to look to Jesus first in their daily walk. My 21 year old has a harder road, as she has yet to find any Christian friends or a home church in her area. I see her struggle to maintain her faith, and would like to place a book of this insight and caliber into her hands to help her stay close to God while she is so far away from me. Thank you and God bless you.

  187. Erica Ritzema says:

My daughter just turned 12. She has been struggling to identify with a daddy figure. Her biological father hasn’t been there for her. I am remarried and he has done a wonderful job taking care of her but he’s not her ‘real’ dad. I am trying to help her understand there is 1 daddy that will never leave her. I am definetly in.

  188. Lynn, I have 3 daughters with another little girl on the way. It would be such a huge blessing to be able to read this book with all of my daughters and share your encouragement. I have seen and felt with my own heart what God can do when He is in charge of your heart and life. I pray for this for my daughters daily, I pray for their close relationship with Him, I pray they grow closer each and every day. Our world has become such a tricky, tricky trap and I pray my daughters will place their hearts and lives in the Lords hands and overcome this world, just as Jesus has. Anytime I get the chance to share the importance of chosing the Lord for your life with my daughter I do, this would be such a blessing. Thank you!

  190. Teri Wilmarth says:

A deep prayer has been answered in the offering of this book!! I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter who seems lost and angry and I just don’t know what to do anymore. I pray every day for Jesus to touch her heart like he has done mine. I’m so scared for her. She’s an amazing student and a brilliant dancer, but she just seems so lost and struggling. I pray that I win this book. If not, I will, without a doubt, purchase it. Thank you for this opportunity.

  193. Teri Wilmarth says:

  195. Cassandra Davidson says:

As a single mother of 4 daughters from a broken family I pray that my daughters seek God to fulfill their needs and find out who they are through HIM! I also pray that my sons do not follow in their fathers footsteps, although I do see one doing that :(. Thank you for this book!!!!

  200. Susan Herzog says:

I want her say yes to God in being a light to those who are unsaved and an encouragement to those who are as she enters highschool this fall.

  201. Hi:) I’m definitely in! I am hoping my 13 year old daughter will say “Yes!” to Jesus. She says she believes in Him but is very cynical and skeptical about reading th e Bible. This week we just began reading from Joyce Meyers’ “Battlefield of the Mind for Teens”; but I feel it’s not quite the right fit for her. I am praying God opens her heart because I know the enemy has been trying to derail her by distracting her with dark music and by intriguing her with the boy bands with all the makeup and facial piercings. Sure hope I win!

  202. I have 2 daughters, ages 7 & 2. I pray that they will have a relationship with God and know their worth. Also, that they will develop discernment, know His will for them. I want them to know they are daughters of the King. Thank you for this opportunity.

  203. Jill Emerson says:

I want my daughter to say “Yes!” to Him in everything as He becomes everything to her.

  204. I pray my toddler daughter will say “yes” to God in every way in her life. And as a still-somewhat-young woman myself, I am still praying God will help me say “yes” to Him daily.

  205. I’m in!! This book would be a great resource for my Sunday School class of young girls ages 10-13. I also have a 7 year old daughter & it is my heart’s desire to encourage all of “my” girls in SS, as well as my own daughter, to give their all to God, be willing to jump into living for Him whole heatedly even at a young age. You’re never to young or to old to follow God & serve. If we “let go & let God” we may be surprised at the things He will use us to do for His glory. I want to encourage these girls to live a life of adventure as servants for The Lord & this book would be a great resource in my endeavor. Can’t wait to read it as I have yet to read anything Lysa TerKeurst has written that hasn’t been a help or inspiration to me.

  206. This book would be a great one for my daughter. She graduates in May and will be going to Bellevue Masters Commissions for a year. Discipleship/ College Program .

  207. Gretchen Heitkam says:

    Hey Lynn,
I currently am co-leading our Jr. High Youth and am about to kick off an all girls’ bible study for the Jr and Sr High girls. Not only am I praying my daughter says yes to God now as a feisty 4 year old, but I’m praying that the girls in our community say yes to God in many ways. I was a single mom shortly after high school and I pray that these girls learn from the blessings God has given me to understand that I was desperately in the wrong during my teenage years. Now I’m happy married to a fantastic man, helping our church in our small town bring in some young families to bless them in their faith and traditions for generations, and be an active and hands on role model for the girls in our church. This book would be a great start for a kick off bible study book!!! I’m in!!!
Very Blessed by the Women of Proverbs31 Ministries,
    Gretchen

  208. Beverly Moss says:

Praying she’ll say yes to God, in her dating practices!

  209. I hope my daughter says yes to Gods free gift of salvation, yes to spreading the true unadulturated gospel, and yes to purity.

  210. What a wonderful book! I know I still am learning to say to God in *everything* and not just in the area’s I want to say yes in. 🙂 Sounds like an excellent book for young ladies!

  211. At this point I’m not sure where to begin with things other than taking everything to our Lord and Saviour. Our family has been struggling with issues for a long time and recently we have been put into a very difficults situation because of our choices and reactions to our issues. I want so many things for my daughter and Christ is the answer in all of those things. I want her to know Christ will always be there for her in life’s trials to turn to and that his way is the only way. I don’t want her to live lost like I did growing up and feeling alone in my pain and suffering. My parents didn’t bring us to God. I was never really taught his word or his way. I want a different life for my children.

  212. Michelle Ruelke says:

I’m in and my 13 year old daughter is in! Thank you!!! God bless!

  219. I pray my daughter will say “yes” to God’s will for her life. That she will listen to His voice for guidance and wisdom as she gets ready to go to high school in the fall.

  220. Cheryl Rosentreter says:

Three of my granddaughters range from age thirteen to seventeen. I am especially concerned for one of them. I pray for all three of them and I do want them to be young women that say yes to God. I really want them to know that even in this difficult world we live in they can be godly young women!!!!! I love Lysa and her transparency. I would love to win one of these.

  221. I pray my daughter will say yes to God in all areas of her life, especially when it comes to her purity! She is almost 12 and most days I feel like I don’t have the wisdom and knowledge to fill her up with what she needs. I pray that God fills her up so full that she overflows with His love and wisdom in all situations!

  223. susan riggs says:

I’m in! I have 3 teens at home and 1 pre-teen. I pray for all of them to listen to God’s voice and not the world’s; that they say “Yes” to God’s call. Thank you!!

  224. Our daughter is 18 and is struggling. She claims to know the Lord but doesn’t always live for Him. We would love to present her with this book so that she can say “yes” to God in those areas of her life that have a stronghold on her. Along with our prayers for her we hope and trust that the Lord will rescue her from these sinful/fleshly desires and help her to walk as a true child of God.
Please pray that our daughter would,
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5
    Thank you and God bless.

  226. Veronica Harding says:

I have a step-daughter that is almost 16 yrs old. She has made mistakes and poor choices so soon in her young life. She’s the mother of a beautiful two month old baby girl. She is going to church with us and trying to get her life back on track and with all of her past issues, I pray she says yes to God and knows He loves her regardless of the mistakes she’s made; just like her father and I do. I want her to know she’s not damaged beyond repair nor is she supposed to be perfect in the future. She is God’s child and He will always love her.

    1. Veronica Harding says:

      I forgot to add … I’m In!!!

  227. Lynn, I have 3 daughters with another little girl on the way.It would be such a huge blessing to be able to read this book with all of my daughters and share your encouragement. Thank you!

  228. I don’t have any daughters yet but I pray for them every day anyway. I’m newly married and can’t wait to be a mother. Its my deepest hope that my children learn to love Jesus in a life altering way and trust him with every detail of their lives. My husband and I against his families blessing got married following God’s direction. We regret nothing and I hope that our children can learn to trust God even when the task in front of them is difficult and scary. This seems like such a beautiful book. Regardless of if I win the contest for a free one or not I will probably buy it just the same. 🙂

  229. I’m in. Our daughter is 30-years-old, married, and two kids – one of which is a girl. I would enjoy sharing this with my daughter so she can pass it on to her daughter. Thanks, Lynn

  232. Anne Holmes says:

  233. I want my daughters to say yes to God for everything! From trusting Jesus as their savior, to using their talents for him, to remaining pure until marriage, marrying the right person, raising their children for the Lord. Even if the “yes” hurts or isn’t what they want to do…if it’s what HE wants, I hope they will say YES.

  244. Kiesha R. Sligh says:

My hearts desire and prayer for my 11.5 year daughter is for her to say “YES” to the Lord’s will for her life by loving the Lord our God with all of her heart, soul and strength-Deut. 6: 5! I’m in for the battle over her heart!!!

I pray my daughter will recognize God’s voice as readily as mine, will heed it as willingly as she devours chocolate, and will love the sound of it as much as her heart can bear.

  268. Amaris Freier says:

My 12 year old daughter is discovering her style in clothes and developing friendships that have the potential to last a lifetime.
I pray she finds her self worth in the Heavenly Father who created her and loved her from the start. She will find beauty is more important in her heart and spirit than in the mirror and that her desire for a life worth living will override the desire to conform to the choices of others.

  269. Jolene Gerlach says:

    Good morning Lynn!

    I’m in!

  274. As a mom to 3 girls – 16,11,9 – I pray regularly that they will seek God as their highest treasure and know Him so well that they can hear His voice above all others. I hope that, like you, they will choose to serve Him with abandon!

  277. Anne-Marie Pfligler says:

I’m in!! My daughter is 16 & I would like for her to say “Yes” to God’s will of staying pure until marriage, as well as his will for her life in her career choices.

  278. I pray that both my daughters are guided in their decisions through the Holy Spirit. Funny that the written devotional mentions that she heard the same thing two different days in a row. God often speaks to me in , I call them, “themes”. How loving our God is to care enough to speak to us through His word, through devotions, through Sunday School teachers, through pastors, etc.. The list goes on and on…

  279. I pray that both my daughters be guided by the Holy Spirit. I pray that who they are, what they wear, what they do with their live honors and glorifies our Savior always. Thank you for writing books like, “What Happens When Young Women Say Yes to God”.

  280. Hi Lynn

I’m in. I have a 12 yr old daughter and am struggling with how to broach many topics!

  281. Nykesha Jones says:

I pray that my girls, my daughters from another mother, learn to love themselves and know their worth. There are so many influences in the world like the internet, “reality” TV, frenemies and boys, my son included. These distractions tell our girls that if they do not live like the people on TV or are not willing to do whatever others want them to, they are not worthy. I want them to know that they are loved and worth their weight in Platinum. Being a woman is not based on the number of partners they have or the cost of the shoes on your feet. It is based on the quality of their character and their service to God. He has great works for them to carry out. I just want them to see their success in God, not man.

  282. I would love a copy of this book with 3 beautiful little girls, ages 5-11. Thanks for a wonderful blig of encouragement and great resources!

  283. Carol Burrell says:

Thanks for all you ladies do. Count me in.

  284. I actually don’t have any biological children, but I am a Youth Pastor’s wife and I work in Christian Education. I am ALWAYS around young girls (ladies) it’s one of my passions & prayer that they would live & grow to be Godly Women.

My Young Adult Ladies Bible Study did “What Happens When Women Say Yes To God” last year and it was a big hit, as well as a challenge!!!

Looking forward to passing along this one to a young lady in the near future…maybe even free! 😀

  285. Kelley Jo says:

    I’m in for my daughter!
