Faith Speaks

Faith speaks. Faith has action. Faith is not the same as hope. Hope desires and believes good will come; faith knows and acts upon it. So were some of the words of my pastor yesterday morning.

Ezekiel was open. He expected to hear from God and when God spoke, he listened and obeyed. In Ezekiel 37: 1-14 these words appear over and over again “Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message…”vs. 4 “So I spoke….”vs. 7 “Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message…”vs. 9 “So I spoke…” vs.10 God told Ezekiel to speak and without question, Ezekiel spoke the prophetic message.

Here is the message: “Therefore, prophesy to them and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel. When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done what I said. Yes, the Lord has spoken!”

What in your life do you need to speak to? A marriage that is drying up? A child who is in rebellion? Finances that are unraveling? Health that is deteriorating? Hebrews 12:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen. Faith speaks out that no matter how things appear, God is at work. God will bring back those who have turned from Him. He will give them His own Spirit. He will cause them to live again and return Home – back to Himself. Faith not only believes that this is true, but acts and trust in that belief. Acts and trusts in belief that the One who made the marriage, the child, the finances, the health is the same One who can be completely trusted to restore it!

Lord, That is what you are – Lord of our lives. Thank you that you can be trusted. When all else fails, YOU never do. Thank you that in faith our marriages are thriving, our children are passionate about you, we have enough to give away and we are completely healthy. Thank you that you give our lives purpose and meaning and that you give us the priviledge to shine that to others. You are more than AMAZING and I love you so. Amen

  1. thank so much for your words today. I have two children, that are not walking with the Lord. Our finances are not the greatest.
But God is bigger, and trusting him and seeking him to guide us in praying for our kids to turn back around to their heavenly father. and the He will guide us as we trust and seek him to help us finacially.

  2. Oh Lynn, thank you for this encouragement that God will bring back those who have turned from Him.

My nephew left his wife and two children several weeks ago. He has completely turned his back on family, friends and God. He is pursuing evil, and quite honestly, it's frightening. He has been living a double-life with alias names and employment etc. that no-one knew anything about. I don't know what it will take to turn his heart around, but thank you for reminding me that he's not beyond God's touch to bring him home.

You have given me both hope and faith,
    Joy
