Happy Friday

I don’t know about you, but I am SO glad it’s Friday. The past couple of weeks have been hard. Friends have lost jobs. Other friends are separting. Life is difficult; I find myself riding the rollar coaster of life whether I want to or not.

This morning, while I was spending time with the Lord, I heard Him for the first time in a while. Over the past couple of weeks I have been consistent about spending time with Him; reading the Word every day, praying for my family and friends, doing my Bible study. But I had been missing slowing down and “getting under the faucet”. This is what I call getting in His presence and allowing His heart and love towards me to overwhelm me once again.

“but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 NIV
I have got to have Him! So, as I stood alone in my living room, singing to Him, I felt that wonderful peace and fullness that I so desperately need. One day, I will be wise enough to know that it is not just enough to show up physically each day, I need to be there with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

If you are like me, and have felt sad, lonely, or disconnected this week, find some time to get with Your Jesus. He always has a well of love to pour out on you. He is never moody and never has too much on His plate. Let Him fill you again!

Lynn, just this morning I was thinking these same thoughts. So far this year I haven’t missed a day reading His Word, but I never want it to just become something to check off a ‘to do’ list. It’s not about ritual, but relationship.

    Thanks for this gentle reminder.
    Trust you are doing well.
    Hugs,
    Joy
