Moving Past Me #YestoGod

Blog Hop

God is doing something new in me by doing something old.

Over the summer, I was all about getting my list done. With a book deadline in the fall, I knew I had to chip away to complete it or I would come up empty handed. But focused on my “ministry”, my eyes became dulled to the ministry right in front of me: family, friends, strangers. People who needed me to be the touch of God they needed that day.

Not wanting to step outside where I feel comfortable and natural, with a list I could complete in my own strength, I’ve missed opportunity. Others have missed receiving from Him because of me.

It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with what I see and loose sight of what I don’t.

This week I asked the Holy Spirit to help me see again; to hear His quiet promptings. I purposed to obey.

Just as the Proverbs 31 Ministries Online Bible Study is doing “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God”, I’m ready to say “yes” too. To be done with my agenda and get radical about obeying…again. It’s time to pray hard, listen harder and obey with all my might.

It’s time to move past me.

Today, show me, Jesus, where and how I can sacrificially give to others. Help me see; empower me to obey. Help me to make it an “all” day – all my heart, all my soul, all my strength. (Deu. 6:5) Make me uncomfortable today. Amen

  1. That list, visible or not, keeps us focused and detemined. I’m with you, I want to hear His voice and obey.
