Not What I Expected

conference call button

If you are joining me here today from my devotion, Not What I Expected with Proverbs 31 Ministries, welcome!

Understanding the depth of God’s love for me has made all the difference in my life. As a young woman, my ideas of love were so confused. Caught up in either keeping score (don’t give unless reciprocated) or performing for love (give what they want to get what you want) my immature heart translated this confused thinking to God. He must keep score and expect me to perform as well. It wasn’t until I got just how crazy He was about me that my heart became free to love – love God and love others in a healthy way too!

Now, my passion is to help teen girls and their moms see the radical way Jesus is pursuing their hearts and how He wants to fill us with Perfect Love.

Here are some free resources to help you do just that!

First is the His Revolutionary Love calendar.  This calendar gives three directives each week to soak your heart in God’s love. Don’t worry that the year has already started! It is set up to not be just for 2014, but to work no matter when or what year you utilize it.

Second, I would like to invite you to join a FREE online Bible Study of “His Revolutionary Love”. My friend, Erin Bishop, of The Whatever Girls is hosting this free study beginning January 27th. You are also invited to join us on conference calls as well with Jonny Diaz, Christian Pop Artist and writer/singer of  More Beautiful YouShari Braendel of Fashion Meets Faith and myself.

Join us and soak your heart! When we understand the power of Christ’s love, our confidence is built, leading us to make wise choices!

All you need for the study is a copy of “His Revolutionary Love” and today I am giving away a personalized copy! To enter to win, just list in the comments below your favorite aspect of God’s unconditional love. If you’re in a hurry, just say, “I’m in!” Stop back on Monday when I will announced the winner!

If you have any questions today about the study or any questions at all, just leave them in the comments below too and I will be sure to answer!

Lynn

I want to thank you for letting God use you to deliver that Devotion today. It really spoke to my heart.

I gave my daughter your two books for Christmas and we are going to register for the online study. 🙂 I still have to get my book, but she’s ready.

God’s unconditional love means I can start over again, and again, and again. His grace never runs out.

    Blessings,
    Laura

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Yeah Laura! I am so glad you are joining us! Thank you so much for investing in your daughter 🙂

  16. God has blessed me beyond what I deserve! Five years ago God gave us a grandchild with a rare chromosome disorder. The Drs knew so little about his condition, so they gave us very little hope for our little man Luke. I was so angry with God for giving my son, a child that wasn’t perfect. But even through my hurt I knew God had His loving, healing arms around our baby. One day, not long after Luke was born, my daughter MADE me go to a Christmas pageant at our church that the other “normal” children were putting on. That night God spoke to me, as I sat in the back corner of the church, crying. He told me that Luke was perfect in His eyes and therefore he should be in my eyes also. Our family has had a rollercoaster ride for the last five years, but each time Luke would over come the many obstacles that arose. But through each valley we always knew that God would show us how to climb to the top of the mountain. God has been so good to us, even when we were filled with doubt. Luke is now in kindergarten, learning something new everyday! And even though we know Luke’s journey isn’t going to be easy..we know that God’s unconditional love for his children, will carry us through.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony! Luke is God’s love clearly seen!

  17. Knowing that God’s unconditional love is forever and for me, it’s not based on my performance. I mess up every single day , knowing that God forgives me and loves me through it is overwhelming! I’m in!!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

We are building a long list of thankful worship to our God today! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PERFECT LOVE JESUS!

  18. The grace God gives us because of His unconditional love. I’m in!!!

  19. Nia Weldon says:

What AMAZING love our Heavenly Father illustrates to us throughout His word. Why is it so hard to show that type of love to others in my life when they don’t meet my expectations and when they do not respect my boundaries? My prayer is for Him to speak to my heart so that I may demonstrate His type of love to others in my life who have not met my expectations. I am struggling with this right now. I pray He will use me to show them His unconditional love and guide me in setting loving boundaries. I pray He will remove the anger in my heart towards them so that I may forgive just as He forgives me….unconditionally. I pray that through demonstrating this type of love they may come to know Jesus and His AMAZING love for them.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Jesus, I agree with Nia! In your powerful name that can do ANYTHING, help her to partner with You to forgive. Empower her to grasp Your love and show You! Amen

  20. Gods love is ….. in the miracle of my three children; knowing I get to start over and “try again” each day; is felt in trials and triumphs. God’s love is GRACE!

  21. God loves me even in my mess!

  22. Kristiaun says:

Good morning. I’ll share my favorite quote about Gods unconditional love

He sees the depth of my heart and he loves me the same. You are amazing God. ~ Kierra Sheard “Indescribable”

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Beautiful words to a beautiful song!

  23. I fail God still loves me!

  24. God keeps showing me even in my “mess” that He is there and I am LOVED! Thank you for giving of yourself so that others—like me—know that we aren’t alone

  25. I thank God for his unconditional love because when I didn’t love myself he still loved me

  26. Allison Tomlinson says:

It really resonated with me when you said that the Father acted “AS SOON AS HE SAW THE SON” in the distance without knowing why the son had returned. I’m going through an incredibly difficult time with my 15 year old son; and your words made me realize that a lot of the time I don’t approach him with the love of the Father! I am so busy bracing myself for the next “episode;” that I miss so many precious opportunities to show my LOVE for this child in the way God always loves me!

Thank you for the wake up call!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Hang in there, Allison! The Father can pour this incredible love in you to pour out to your son…but we have to be getting filled up every day all day! He loves you!

      1. Allison Tomlinson says:

        Thanks for the support! 🙂

  27. I’m in. I am truly grateful that no matter how often I mess up, He will never leave me and never gives up on me.

  28. I am not a mother, but I am a mentor to two young ladies. I would like to be a part of the online Bible Study. I so totally related to this devotional in so many ways. Understanding the depths of God’s love for me is also making a profound difference in my life. Some of the stand out statements to me are:

“the father’s love was in motion as soon as he saw his son. Not holding back to see what the son had to say, the father gave his love.”

“Thankfully, God, our Heavenly father, is like the father in Luke 15. He continually extends love to us despite the deficit we bring to the relationship.” What a beautiful thought!

    Thank you Lynn.

May I receive God’s unconditional love and may I extend it to others.

  29. He says and has shown me many times that He will
    Never leave or forsake me!

  30. God’s unconditional love is shown to me everyday that I sin, knowingly and unknowingly and yet His grace and mercy keeps me here another day to try to get it right. His love heals my mind body and soul on a daily basis!

  31. I know despite all my fears, worries, and negative behavior that God loves me. This is what helps me want to do better. Knowing that no matter what, he has my back! It doesn’t get better than that.

  32. God doesn’t give up on me, even if I’m constantly keeping score with others. He is gracious to remind me over and over that He is in control and He has paid everyone’s debt in full, mine included!

  33. Rebecca Johnson says:

God’s love never runs out, never gives up and never fails me! He is my Rock, my fortress, my anchor that I hold! Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ!

  34. Oh, I’m in for sure. As a mother of adult children, I have been guilty of keeping score. Your P31 devotion hit me on many different levels. In 1990, I began my tenue as a middle school assistant principal in a small town, away from the sins of the big city, BUT I soon saw young girls “looking for love in all the wrong places.” I spent most of my day as a counselorl……praising God for that opportunity. Now my oldest grandchild has entered middle school. Am so thankful for our relationship and for your blog. Thank you for being God’s messenger to me this morning, answering many of my morning prayer petitions. Grace and peace.

  35. Dear Lynn,

As a mother of two daughters, ages 15 and 12, I was drawn to your devotion and to your passion for teen girls. Thank you for sharing your heart and the gifts God has given you to spread His love.

What is my favorite aspect about God’s unconditional love? God’s love is INDESCRIBABLE.

    Blessings,

    Karen

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

  36. He loves me no matter what! I’m so thankful!

  37. I am thankful that God will never leave me or forsake me no matter how many times I do wrong and sin.
He is an all loving God of mercy and grace!

  38. His passion for us revealed in the story of the prodigal…

  39. Ashley Ford says:

No matter how many times or how bad I mess up, His love is always there and it never changes even when I feel unlovable He says “You will always be loved.”

  40. I know His love is honest and genuine and never-ending, despite my daily sin. I struggle to even understand how great His love is… it’s humbling.

  41. One of my most favorite aspects of God’s unconditional love is that I don’t have to be a certain way for him to love me. He met me where I was at and has met me every day since then. He knows everything about me…about all the bad I’ve done, people I’ve hurt, my selfish addiction, my horrible life choices and yet he loved me. His love includes his grace. Without his love and grace I could not live with myself and my past. Because of him I can live, love and look at myself in the mirror with grace!

  42. He is the Good Shepherd…he restores my soul out of His great love for me!

  43. I needed this! I easily keep a score but I need to keep on learning to forgive. Its amazing to serve a God who forgives despite of all my failures!!! I want to be more like Him!

  44. God’s infinite and unending patience and faithfulness, so matter how often I mess up He is always, always there reday to forgive me and gather me back into His arms of love and grace and mercy – this is one aspect of God’s unconditional love for which I am most grateful.

  45. I love that God’s unconditional love for me never fades. No matter if I get to busy for Him, he loves me anyway. No matter how bad I may mess up, He loves me any way

  46. God’s amazing LOVE gives me strength when I am weak! I AM IN!!!

  47. Jill Lindsey says:

I love that he loves me enough to, well, love me!

  48. I love the fact that He loves us unconditionally. No matter how bad I mess up and how many mistakes that I make, He is still going to always love me.

  49. I loved your devotion this morning! My goal for this year is to show love to others, regardless of if I get anything in return. I have really struggled with this in the past. What an awesome gift unconditional love from God is—why is it so hard to model that grace to others sometimes?

  50. I’m in! Thank you! I bought your devotional for my daughter and she loves it!

  51. Rachel L. says:

I’m in! I am a mother of two small boys and struggling with my own walk but wanting my boys to have a strong walk. I remind them and try to remind myself that no matter how messed up we are God has unconditional love for us and though it may be hard we must do the same for others. *Most of the time that is easier said then done.*

  52. Judy Eaton says:

So much to say, God is good all the time.

  53. I just lead a 22 year old girl to The Lord. She definitely needs to learn more about God’s love. Would this book and study be good for her? I would love to share a study with her long distance as she goes back to college.
Thank you for your passion to share His love with young girls!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Yes Julie! It would be very good for her! It would help her begin to put her trust for love and affection in the right place – Jesus’ radical love!

  54. diana callahan says:

I am ashamed of the times I get upset when situations don’t go my way. I am so humbled that God loves me even at these times. Your devotion today hit a spot when my daughter was not informed about a time change for a leadership trip to the capital today. I was upset that no one had told her and she had to stay at school while the group went off for an awesome day. Then I read this. God is so amazing and I am so unworthy. I think I will buy the devotional book if I don’t win it. Thank you for reminding us of his love. I desire for it to sweep me away!!!

  55. God’s unconditional love transforms my heart! I’m in!

  56. I hope I never get too old to still learn.

  57. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us.” 2 Peter 3:9

  58. Lynn, thank you for this powerful and insightful message. I was so touched as I can hear in my heart my Heavenly Father telling me once again “Love will melt her heart”. My sister and I were molested when we were younger by our stepdad and til this very day she has a very bitter heart. I continue to get disappointed with her actions toward & family members but I know God is in control. I am grateful that Christ kept me. I may have had a weak start in life but I know I am “running the race” with Christ. Thanks Lynn!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Victoria, thank you so much for your vulnerability. Father, we pray for Victoria’s sister. Give her the desire to be free and over bitterness. Open her eyes to see she is the one who is hurting from holding it. Help Victoria to love her and be there when you open the door for conversations about you! Amen

  59. Deitra Taylor says:

I am truly grateful for God’s unconditional love because when I was 14 I gave birth to my 1st child and my father disowned me because I didn’t want to have an abortion. There was a 12 1/2 year period where there was no communication or contact between us. I needed a father so badly. My heavenly abba father help me to realize He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me.

  60. No matter what I do, or don’t do…he loves me.

  61. I’m in!! Knowing that the God whois mighty enough to move mountains, feed the sparrow, heal the blind, cause the lame to walk and the blind to see, also cares enough to know MY NAME, shows me that no matter what mistakes I make HE still loves me!

  62. Thank you for this article this morning! God’s unconditional love has shown me that no matter what’s going in our lives, we can love like the father. Realizing the depth of HIS love helped me to love my husband through his affair. The pain and humiliation were there, but they took a backseat to Jesus going willingly to his death for me. Through Christ’s love, we are able to overcome.

  63. I’m in! My favorite aspect of God’s unconditional love is being there for me and loving me despite everything.

  64. Knowing that God loves me and is always with me, no matter what I do or what is happening around me, especially in those really tough times…that brings me great comfort and encouragement!

  65. Tawnya hicks says:

When I was finally able to accept Jesus’ forgiveness for my sin, I became overwhelmed by His love and unconditional acceptance of me!

  66. Gods unconditional love reminds me that no matter how many times I let him down, He is waiting for me with open arms if I will just turn to Him. The divine timing of this Proverbs 31 email is AMAZING!! I was just talking to another mom about my struggles with my teenage daughter and she suggested this very book. Wow…I had never heard of the book or author (sorry:), but how much more clear can God be? I love hearing God’s voice and direction in things that only a couple if years ago would have been “coincidence”. I can’t wait to read the book and follow your blog!!!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Krisit, there is nothing to apologize for! God caused our paths to cross at just the right time! Looking forward to hearing from you as a part of our community! Please consider joining our Behind-the-Scene team for mothers investing in their daughters too! Here is the Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/314312958708363/

  67. Kimmarieber says:

I could really use this book and study right now. My almost-13 daughter and I have been having some love and respect issues. I think this could really help. Thank you for offering this!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

13 can be one of the toughest ages, Kim! Look for ways, even the tiniest of ways, to show her you love her. She needs to see, like the prodigal, that even though she pushes you, you won’t stop loving her. Yes, you still discipline, but you also still give her the love and affection she needs.

  68. I’m in! I’m thankful for God’s love for me and my family. He has blessed me beyond what I deserve.

  69. Sharon Fry says:

My favorite aspect is that He always sees the good and not the bad. Which is NOT what I do unfortunately.

  70. I have a teenage daughter who is falling away from her walk with God. Talking about it induces eye rolling. Slipping her a book would do wonders. Please pray.

  71. No matter what, His love is ALWAYS there for me! I’m in!

  72. How blessed to have a a God who is so forgiving, so loving. I make the same mistake over and over and He is there each time, saying ” nothing you do can change My mind. You are mine and I love you.”

  73. The fact that God loves me no matter what is sometimes hard to believe. I am so unworthy of His love and yet He loved me so much to send His Son to die a cruel death, just for me. How unbelievably incredible is that????

  74. This devotional was meant for me today. My grown stepson is many times hateful and disrespectful of my husband and keeps us from seeing our grand kids. I so often want to “keep score” when I know he still needs our love and support. I stopped this very moment and said a prayer to ask God to open my heart to him. He needs love from God and from us. Thanks again

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Nancy – I am so glad you allowed God’s word to open a soft place in your heart! I know, as you depend on Him, He will give you that unconditional love you need to give away!

    2. Melissa K says:

Praying for you too Nancy. Sometimes its easier to stop trying but don’t. God never gave up on us. Don’t stop showing love to your stepson!

  75. I am wrapping my mind around the fact that God is crazy about me, no matter what!!!!

  76. God loves me even when I feel I don’t deserve it or I disappoint him again.. I love the way he loves me unconditionally.

  77. Sandy Mcbride says:

All I can say is this shook me to the very core of my heart My husband and I separated for a period of time because I kept score as I sit here thru tears I write this I did not even realize that’s exactly what I was doing I am sure glad God did not show me that type of conditional love I would love to join this Bible study I however are living on a very tight income as my husband is out of work and I can’t believe I actually demanded he be employed or eles My eyes are wide open Thank you for your gift of this devotional It has so matured me and convicted me WOW

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Sandy – thank you so much for sharing friend! Hearing how God uses our writings encourages us at Proverbs 31 Ministries! Join the study anyway, friend! You will gain through the blog posts and the videos 🙂

  78. The Father’s love for me is perfectly unconditional. He helps me to see the mess I am and that he will fix all the brokenness. This has allowed me to see that I can let go of my grudges, expectations and my ” Conditional love” of others and just LOVE them!! His love gives me peace and joy which I have never known until recently. Even though I have been saved for 12 years His love has finally broken through my hard heart. I was so busy trying to fix others around me that I am now barely allowing My Precious Father to fix me. My biological Father was never in my life and my mother passed away when I was a child so I cling to my Heavenly Father to fill the brokenness and hurt. The places that even my husband and kids can not fill even though Lord knows for years I thought they could fill it up. I praise Him because His Love never fails me and it endures forever. I am His Precious Daughter that he calls worthy and dearly Loved.

Thank you Lynn for your awesome devo today -)

  79. Melissa K says:

Not only is it unconditional, it’s always there, even when I don’t feel it. When I stray or get distracted, it’s waiting for me when I call home!

  80. Kathi Haynes says:

This devotion hit me right at home. I sometimes want to keep score with my husband, and yesterday was one of those days. Meanwhile, I am trying to teach my teen daughter that as Christians, we should love one another unconditionally. Today, your message was just for me! Hope to win the copy of your book!

  81. Thank you so much Lynn for your beautiful devotion. Just this past Christmas the Lord showed me
how I was not only keeping score but it also allowed great pride and bitterness to rise up within me. The Lord convicted my heart and directly told me what I was to do……I obediently followed His direction and I can’t begin to tell you that it not only freed me from many things (bitterness, anxiety, animosity, pride and stress) but it filled me with His great PEACE and most of all restored the JOY in my heart!!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

What a beautiful testimony of the reward of obedience, Debbie!

  82. Milca Morgan says:

I can’t be grateful enough to God because He loves me no matter how much i mess up in my daily life… i lose my patience, become “unglued”, but God still loves me, has mercy on me, and shows me grace, day after day…. it’s an amazing love!!

  83. I’m in too – what a great message today since I, too, have always loved “conditionally” – I say I don’t, but I really do. I have been accused on more than one (too many to count) occasion that my expectations are way too high, and therefore, I always seem to be disappointed, always emotionally hurt, only to do it over and over again, and be hurt again. I would love to stop the madness and remind myself that I am free to love others – there is plenty to go around! Thanks so much!

  84. I’m so thankful for the experience of living in Gods unconditional love! Looking for help sharing this with my 3 teenage daughters.

  85. His love is unchanging!

  86. Grateful for His unconditional love…I’m in!

  87. Ruth Orozco says:

I’ve been a Christian for years, but am just now learning His unconditional love at the heart level. I have two beautiful little daughters, and I do not want them to grow up with the same black hole of self-hatred that I did.

How can God love the kind of person I am when it seemed no one else could?

So thankful for the small and big ways He is opening my eyes to His amazing love.

  88. I’m in and I am grateful that God has led me to you through Proverbs 31! With a tween daughter I am feeling at my wit’s end. Your testimony and His guidance has been uplifting.

  89. I’m ordering a copy today, but I’m in for one to give to my sweet niece. I’m so thankful for God’s unconditional love, I experienced a deep hurt when I was a teen as my earthly father withheld love when he didn’t agree with a life choice of mine. While the hurt from that caused me to stray, I was able to return to a Heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally and for that I am thankful.

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

I am so happy the Father’s love is filling your love gap, Alichia!

  90. My favorite aspect of God’s unconditional love is that it is so CLOSE…right there for my taking. I am a 40-year-old woman just recently fully comprehending all that His love means for me and praying that my teenage daughter experiences His revolutionary love a heck of a lot sooner than I did!

  91. I’m in!! I love the peace and comfort I feel, and know, each and every day as I pray and ask God to move in me and keep me focused on what he wants in my life.

  92. I’M IN!

    FORGIVENESS . . .

  93. God’s mercy and faithfulness towards me is my favorite aspect of God’s love and blows me away each time! But I tend to forget and doubt in the midst of it all(college, social life, and so on). Hopefully this book would be a good reminder.

  94. Need to learn about unconditional love…… I’m in!

  95. Unchanging and never ending love!

  96. Leigh Ann says:

I love that the things I don’t like about myself, God has allowed for His glory and love to be revealed either through, because or inspite of them.

  97. Tiffany Thomas says:

    His unconditional love is sustaining.

  98. In this world where it seems like people leave one another for whatever reason they can think of, it is nice to know that absolutely NOTHING can separate me from God’s love!

  99. He is UNFAILING! There is no one, no matter what, you can depend on more than HIM!

  100. I’m a recovering (cough) perfectionist who is grateful that God sees Christ’s perfection in me so I don’t have to work to be perfect!

  101. There is no limit to God’s unconditional love, you can’t “use it up.”

  102. God loves me! Despite of me, He loves me!!!

  103. I’m ALL in, for my beautiful daughter Rachel!

  104. I’m so thankful for the peace that God gives me. So often I let life try and steal that from me. I need to transfer that peace can always be mine!!

  105. His unconditional love leaves me speechless sometimes. I am blown by it, it’s so amazing

  106. karen miller says:

He loves me for who I am, and for what I’ve done, no matter what.

  107. God’s love will never me down. Although I have experienced the bitterness of broken promises from others, God will never let me down. His love guarantees that as His child, He will provide for all my needs, protect me from the Enemy of my soul, and grant me peace in His presence. I can trust God because of His unconditional love. Now I have the choice to embrace His love, and give my whole being to Him that He would transform me into the image of His Son. Your writing inspires me to focus on God’s nature and not be distracted by the world, the flesh and Satan.

  108. God never gives up on me. He keeps pursuing me. I have an almost 7 year old daughter I want to teach how God sings over us, delights in us, intercedes for us. Thank you 🙂

  109. Bonnie Sher says:

The aspect of God’s love is that he offers us so many ways to see Him in our everyday lives, but still loves us when we fail to see or even look

I’m in! And since I already have the book, I’ll give this one (should I win it) to my co-leader of our own Whatever Giirls group that has its first meeting in February.

  111. My favorite aspect truly is that His love is unconditional…I never have to worry or think His feelings have changed about me. He is always there, in any and all situations. You can count on Him to do what He promises. It just doesn’t get any better than that! 🙂

  112. The greatest aspect of God’s unconditional love is that it is truly unconditional!

  113. His Grace!
Thanks for letting us know about the study – perfect for three Tweens in my life! One in particular has a tough home life, so it will be good timing for her to learn about God’s great love for her!

  114. Gods love is a connection I have with my family members who have already passed, and it will connect me to my family after I have passed.
I like that even when I find myself SO busy, trying to keep up, and have strayed from active faith/ regular devotion, I can get right back with God and the peace he brings. As you said… He comes to me; Doesn’t keep score, despite the deficit I bring to the relationship.
Despite the selfishness of my coming back when I realize I can’t control the chaos of my life.
I like how Gods unconditional love always offers advice for raising my 2 boys, esp when I feel I have no idea what to do or what I’m doing

  115. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail – they are new every morning!” (Lamentations 3:21). That is my favorite thing about God’s unconditional love – it is just that – unconditional – and new each and every day! Thank you Jesus!

  116. Praise God for his unconditional love!

  117. The unconditional part!
    I’m in!!!!!

  118. I am grateful that as unworthy as iam, God sees and values me through His grace and profound love.

  119. Loved you email in the email from Proverbs 31.

  120. God loves me no matter what I do.

  121. I want to know ‘His revolutionary Love’, that is my personal goal this year and to be able to show and pass that in to my daughters would be an amazing blessing!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

That is a beautiful goal, Ann!

  122. Susan Harrell says:

I often find myself keeping score…not matter good or bad. I have two young girls that I want to teach the true unconditional love that Christ has for them. Thanks for bringing this ever present issue to light. We all need unconditional love!

  124. I am just thankful. Despite how much I try to be like Christ the little cares of this life try to change me and no matter what battles I face he never stops loving me. He builds me up when I’m weak. And he is always there…even when I don’t win the battle of my heart he is there to lift me up. And I just love Him for that even if he doesn’t do anything else. I am thankful for all he has done thus far.

  125. Grace…amazing grace.

  126. Praise God for you, I really appreciate your perspective on the love of the father of the prodigal son. I am very blessed by our Heavenly Father’s indefatigable and resolute love. May I be as resolute in my determination/choice of loving as He loves. I need to deal with unrealistic expectations of others and pray about how God would have me respond to those in my sphere of influence.

  127. His unconditional love and acceptance of me no matter how often I mess up.

  128. your video sounds like a perfect history of my younger years…. now that path lead me to now face life as a single mom of two doing it alone. but the best thing about God’s love is that he is with me, despite my mistakes, or how far my wrong turns have taken me from him, yet God loves me no matter what and always takes me just as I am.

      Yes He does Amber!

    1. Lynn Cowell says:

Ronda, I hear your heart in your simply comment. Father, only You can give us faith to believe what You say is true. Give Ronda that tiny, tiny seed. Help her to then water it by listening to Your Word so it grows. Amen

Ronda, the Bible tells us “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” I “hear” God’s word by listening to sermons, worship music, reading God’s word out loud as prayers and listening to the Bible on my phone. All these things help me believe.

This study looks wonderful. I’m in!!

  130. He loves me where I am.

  131. Hey there, I was wondering how/where can I get your books please. I feel like coming accross th7s was no accident at all!!! It a lines with where I am at and what I am in need of right now. I have very low self esteem and have taught that to my 3 children, I want to build us up in Christ and have him our cornerstone….. however this requires huge change in what we think love is, in turn how we accept “love from others” also..and how God views and loves us.
study looks and sounds good too.
    Thank -you
