Peace in Who I Am

Mariah and I just returned last night from the i Am teen event in Powell, Ohio.

What an honor to be part of pouring into young hearts the truth of who and whose they are! Simply amazing to see girls give their lives to Jesus and find true confidence in the One who will never leave them or forsake; the One who loves them perfectly and unconditionally!

Whether it is a young girl of 13 or a mom of 43, the source of peace is the same and the way to obtain peace is the same.

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”

Perfect peace, the peace that happens in our hearts even when our homes feel like they are falling apart, when everything we touch is crumbling, when we feel we are exhausted beyond repair, comes when we switch our thoughts away from our troubles and to our God.

Wrapping our mind, moment by moment, in the truth that He cares for us and has everything under His control brings a peace that truly does not make sense, but is the peace we need.

What is that thing that is stealing His peace from you today? The impending holidays and all the stress it can bring? Your child’s grades? Your troubled marriage? Even these things, Jesus can bring His peace to…but the first step is our’s. Switching our thoughts from our troubles to our God.

Write out Isaiah 26:3, put it in your pocket and when your mind begins to swirl today, pull it out and choose to find His peace today!

Congrats to Deena Burham, winner of “Stress Point” from last Friday. Deena, shoot me your address to [email protected] and I’ll get it right out to you!

  1. Lynn, love this! Peace is a choice especially in the middle of our busy lives.

  2. I just now read your devotion. How perfect is God’s timing. He shows up in amazing ways! Peace is what I need – turning my attention to God and not the circumstances around me. God bless you!

That makes two of us, Karen!
