Prayer that Packs a Punch

Good Morning Bloggy Friends,

Spring is definitely showing up here in Charlotte. I have daffodils blooming and found some new narcissus had come up while Madi and I were away speaking this weekend. Which by the way, was wonderful! Welcome to my new friends in Herndon, Virginia! We learned on Saturday how to “Build a Bridge to Your Child’s Heart”; it is so good to meet new friends!

Spring at the Cowell’s means fast pitch softball. Madi has grown once again which means it is time for a longer bat. A mean bat is Madi’s number one weapon when it comes to playing at the top of her game.

As believers we too need strong weapons to play at the top of our game: prayer, time in the Word, fasting and serving. Join me at Internet Cafe Devotions this morning with your cup of coffee as I share more about prayer.

Prayer, a multi-dimensional gift from our Father, needs to be at the very top of our arsenal. When we partner with others, it becomes even more powerful. Ecclesiates 4:9 tells us:

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:” (NIV)

Prayer walking is one of my favorite ways to start the day. I meet a dear friend several times a week at the park or the greenway. We spend a few minutes catching up and then we dive right into praying. It doesn’t matter who walks by or what they hear; we have a prayer meeting going on as we huff it through the trees.

Power and encouragement come together when we pray together. There is hope when we pray together. The best part of all, there is a whole lot of praise when we see God answer our prayers together.

Do you have a prayer partner? How and when do you and your friend prayer together?

I’m heading out the door to meet my friend to pray now! If you have a specific prayer request today, please let me know when you comment and I will pray for you too!

  2. Dear Lord,

You knew this was going to happen to Barb and her family. I believe that you already have an answer to their need right now. You have a home where they can love each other and share Your love as well.

Give them eyes to see what is not there in the natural right now. Give them hope that only you can give.

So glad you are our provision, Jehovah Jireh!

    Amen

My most immediate need is for health concerns. I've been sick for nearly two weeks, and I'm a mom to three and need to work. Also, besides the acute condition I'm experiencing, I also am being seen by several specialists for something that so far they cannot diagnose. My husband has been told he is pre-diabetic, so could you also pray for him to have the ability to lose weight and exercise as he's been told to do? Thank you very much.

  6. Jesus,

You are fully aware of the healing that my friend and her husband need. You are our healer; Your Word tells us that by Your stripes we are healed. Please cleanse her body and her husband's of all that is foreign. Help my friend to be a support and helper to her husband in taking care of his body.

Thank you for your healing, Lord.

    Amen

Lynn, I sent you an email about this. Please send prayers up for a 13 year old girl who has had horrible things happen to her. She has been removed from her home and now has tried commiting suicide. Please pray she sees her worth and knows God loves her. Pray that she would stop trying to hurt herself.

Also, there is a young girl we are considering adding to our family. If you would pray for guidance for it, I would be most appreciative!
Thank you for all you do for the girls!!!
    Teresa
