Prayers for Our Children

I was reading some verses of praise this morning; they brought tears to my eyes. Psalm 103:17 & 18 “But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children– with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.”

Maybe, like me, you sometimes worry, will my children love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength? It is the purposes of your prayers in the morning and in the evening. You watch their lives developing, hoping they are not heading in the wrong direction…and you pray some more.

This morning, I grab hold of this verse as a promise for me and my children. I believe it is for all of those who fear him, keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts – His love is with us and His righteousness with our children’s children.

Lord, I pray once again for our children. Jesus, more than any thing in this whole world, the desires of our hearts is for our children to be passionately, wild about you! Though we know that the path to get there may be filled with trials, (you’ve pretty much promised that in your Word that those who are Your own will have them James 1: 2 – 4), we believe that these trials will develop their faith so that they will be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. Thank you for your Word, Lord. Your faithfulness erases worry and replaces it with joy and great expectations! Father, I can’t wait to see all that you have in store for our children!!! You are good ALL THE TIME! I love you so….Lynn

  1. Hey Lynn,

It’s me again, Tracy. This post has brought tears to my eyes. You see I have a thirteen yr old Morgan who is going through a hard time. About a month ago she had two major test done, she was losing a lot of blood. She has severe Ulcertive Colitis. She is now taking 11 pills a day and four of them are steroids. Her little face is swollen and I can not shovel enough food in her mouth. She had to drop out of her Gymnastics Cheer Academy and she has Nationals in Ohio this weekend and she will not be able to be a part of it, yet my fifteen yr old will. Other children are already making comments on her face and she just cries. I hurt for her but I know she is God’s before she is mine and she is in “The Palm of His Hand”. Which by the way, is the book I am working on. Thank you for your encouragment and please be in prayer for he. Thank you so much, I have read your verses over and over that you left today. You were my angel today. Thank you Jesus!

    With much Love,
    Tracy
