Prayers to Pray for Your Wanderer

We all have one.

The one we worry about in the night and cry to God for during the day. Your’s may be a spouse, a child, a neighbor or a sibling. Your heart’s desire is for them to know Jesus in a revolutionary way.

So when we hit the wall of words run out, when we no longer know how to pray, it is so comforting and empowering to have God’s very words pick up where our’s leave off.

Words like:

Jeremiah 31: 16, 18

“Thus says the Lord: restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work shall be rewarded, says the Lord; and your children shall return from the enemy’s land. And there is hope for your future. (18) I have surely heart Ephraim moaning thus: You have chastised me and I was chastised, like a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke; bring me back, that I may be restored, for You are the Lord my God.” (Amplified)

Matthew 19:26

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (NIV)

Isaiah 49: 16 – 18

“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Your sons will hasten back and those who laid you waste depart from you. Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you.” As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “you will wear them as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride,” (NIV)

Psalms 27:13 – 14

“I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (NIV)

Write these verses in a place where you can read them again and again, building your faith. I have created a notebook for my loved one, where I record verses that empower me to keep having faith. Pull them out often; keeping your faith full so they will one day come to faith as well!

  1. I agree. What God says IS the truth.

Wanting people we love to have it, or change, or experience what we want them to is one of the hardest things, I think.
Not only once, but many times, we’ve come to the place of anger because they wouldn’t see it, or get it. The crush in our spirits was so deep our only way to survive our own emotions was to almost die inside. Almost to become indifferent. Our indifference helped us. God always answers. When He does you KNOW again HE IS AMAZING.
