Provision

Banking and Charlotte. The two go hand in hand. Like many here in this beautiful city, our livelihood is connected to this service. Like many, we have a choice to make. To look at what is taking place in our country and choose fear and panic or to look at what is taking place in our country and ask the Lord, “What do You want to do in me through this?”. Yesterday, when discussing trust with my friends, I was reminded that the Lord said He will provide for His own. That provision is not just financial. It is also spiritual and emotional. He promises us in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Like the majority of His promises, we have a part to play. We have to choose power, love and the sound mind that He is giving. In order to choose these, not only do we need to accept these gifts, we also have to make a conscious choice to turn away from fear.

Today, I am going to choose His power to walk in love. I choose the sound mind He promised (I have to…I lost the one He gave me yesterday!). Join me today in doing the same. He promises that we can have peace NO MATTER WHAT is going on around us and He can be trusted to hold up to His promises!

  1. I can’t help but think of an old hymn:

“Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.”

Choosing to stand on His promises,
    Joy
