“The Help” for us!

Last night, Greg, Mariah and I ended our last night of the summer by going to see “The Help”. In this movie, Aibileen, a maid, daily tells the toddler child she cares for “You are kind. You are beautiful. You are important.”

Aibileen is the voice that whispers simple words packed with dreams and vision, You can be more than your surrounding. You can rise above all that is around you. You can do something important. 


Friend, as the season of summer is upon us, can I be the voice that whispers simple words to inspire you to dream and have visions of your future.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

Do you need someone whispering to you today “You are kind. You are beautiful. You are important.”? Do you need some hope and vision? 


Believe that the One who lives in you is able to do immeasurably more…more than you can ask. More than you can imagine. How? He can fulfill the dreams and visions He places in your heart because of the great power that is already at work within you if you have made yourself his.


These are words to listen to. These are words to whisper in the ear of another. As your child prepares to go out and greet this world today, whisper in her ears, “You are kind. You are beautiful. You are important. The King says so and so do I!”

    My 20 year old daughter asked me to see this movie with her. Movies are not generally in our budget – we usually go to about one a year! But I'm so glad that she asked me for this mother-daughter "date" and that I said yes. It was a very well-done movie with a wonderful lesson! Speaking words of encouragement and truth into the lives of the young people under our influence was one of the things that really impressed me – and how the tears did flow! 🙂

  3. Thanks Lynn for your reminder. This same verse (Eph 3:20-21) was our verse at bible study tonight. I guess the Lord is speaking to me!
