5 Verses For When You Have Nothing Left to Give…

What a beautiful weekend – pouring into the precious moms at Hearts at Home!

Lynn@Hearts@Home

Coming home from working all weekend, I feel one thing: exhausted! While it is very exhilarating speaking with moms and filling them up so they can pour out to their families, it often leaves me drained.

So today, I want to share with you the verses I am pouring into my heart this morning to fill my heart back up:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28 – 30 (NIV)

“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” Genesis 2:2 -3 (NIV)    (If God took time to rest; I do too!)

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 (NIV)

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.” Psalm 62:5  (NIVP

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,  just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4: 9 – 11 (NIV)

Go ahead and print out these verses for filling up your heart! You might not need them today, but chances are, you will feel tired in the future. God’s word will bring rest to your exhausted heart!

When you are feeling exhausted, what fills up your heart?
