Women of Hope

Hello…what a weekend. In fact, I don’t think that I have figured out that it is Monday yet! My plane was delayed at each airport so I finally hit my garage door opener at 12:30 P.M. It was all worth it…

This weekend I had the opportunity to partner with my lifelong friend Renee Smith at Women of Hope. This retreat was a fund raiser for Basket of Hope. There are just so many great things to tell!

First, I got to spend time with my brother, Tom, his wife Terri and his family, Nick, Noah and Molly. Time with family is always the best.

Second, I got to see my family-in-love. Cindi, Courtney, Chelsea and Whitney drove an hour to see me speak. That’s love!

The reunion continued. Three of my dear friends from my youth group growing up came! Kim Hawley, Renee Smith and Janelle Christensen. It is just a bit surreal to be speaking at a retreat with those who are part of your story in the crowd! I should have taken pics during the day when we were all a bit fresher, but here are some at our “sleep over”!

Here is Janelle, Kimmy and Renee after a wonderful but very full day!

My turn! (Ok…stop all that coveting for my Appalachian State t-shirt!)

An additional priviledge was to share the stage with Micca Campbell from Proverbs 31. It is a rare priviledge to get to partner with another speaker from P31. She is amazing (and it was her birthday too!).

Add to the great day, our friend, Cheri Keaggy as the musical guest artist.

I saved the best for last….a mother and her daughter came to know Christ on Saturday together! How cool is that! How cool is God!

Well, I am officially wiped out! Time to rest before I head to Canton Wesleyan Church this Saturday in Canton, NC. God, do what you do best…again!

  1. Dear Lynn,
I attended Women of Hope in Cedar Rapids this pass sat. I was so blessed by you and all the speakers. I was wore out by the end of the day but it was so worth it…I came away with a renewed hope in a God who does great things. Thank you for coming!!
