WWT: Back-to-School; Back-With-Prayer Week 3

Glorifying Sunset

Friend, today is it! The last day of packing as we take Mariah to college tomorrow. I really can’t believe it is here already. I have spent the majority of the summer in denial and now I really have to face it!

Today, let’s pray for our children to bring Jesus glory as they start another school year! Won’t you print this prayer out and join me?

Week 3:

To Bring You Glory

Ephesians 1: 12 “in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.”

Dear Father,

May my children bring You glory. Because of the life that they live, may others see your splendor, brilliance and honor.

Let it begin in their thought life. Open their eyes to recognize destructive thoughts and according to 2 Corinthians 10:5 may they demand every thought to be obedient to You.

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (NIV)

May they bring you glory with their words.

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” (KJV)

Help them to hear their words in their head, and evaluate them, before they ever escape from their mouth.

May they bring You glory with their actions.

Isaiah 30:21 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (NIV)

Jesus, cause them to be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit living inside of them, giving them direction and leading them in the way of obedience and a blessed life! I know these are big requests, God, but I know you are a big God who can do great things!

Thank you that you are at work each and every day in the lives of our children, Lord. We trust in You!

Amen

  3. Thank you for this prayer. I pray along with you as I have two that leave the nest for this semester (actually one left July 6th). Next Wednesday we will be taking our “Baby Girl” to college. The fact that she has been going to college for 3 years as a homeschooler and is entering as a Junior doesn’t make her any less my Baby Girl who is only 18. We have pray for her roommates, co-workers and all that she comes in contact that she will show the servant’s heart placed in her by our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Praying for you too.

  4. Love this prayer and found week 2 also, have 3 heading back in 3 weeks and one well we just don’t know, she is almost 18 and doesn’t want to do anything we want her to do so we will see. I try to find prayers to share with my children’s class at the beginning of every year as they attend a Christian school and CAN PRAY at school. Could not access week 1 want to share these can someone forward a link or send the 1st week prayer for me.
Thank you Lynn will keep your family in prayer, you are making such a difference in the lives of so many, our world is lost and searching…..
