Baking & Bonding

Baking and Bonding! Mary, Mariah & I (our Gather & Grow group) spent some time together making almond-covered pretzels, chocolate covered peanuts and seven layer bars. These are all Christmas goodies that I grew up making and eating when I was a kid. We had a lot of fun!

This fall I have been a part of a new extension of Proverbs 31, called Gather & Grow: RadRevolution. These groups are designed to be a safe place for teen girls to be able to talk about what is going on in their lives, walk through those things with an advisor who cares about them and find out exactly what God’s Word has to say about who they are!
Would you consider coming along side some teen girls and passing on to them what the Lord has done in your life? I know that sometimes this can be intimidating, but trust me when I say, these young girls really do want to have others be a part of their lives. RadRev will be with you if you embark on this new journey. We will help you choose resource materials that are just right for the group of girls you want to invest in. You will have access to a blog site just for leaders and members where you can ask questions and dialogue with other members, as well as access to my email address for any additional questions you may have.
As a woman who has led small groups with teen girls for over five years, I want to tell you, I have never experienced anything so rewarding. Truett Cathy said “It is better to build boys rather than mend men”. It is SO true! This is our opportunity to walk beside young girls and encourage them to pursue Jesus early in life.
Will you pray about asking a couple of young girls you know to hang out with you and learn about Him? It really is that easy. I currently have two G & G groups. This group is with my daughter, Mariah and her best friend, Mary who are in eighth grade. We meet every Thursday after school from 4:00 – 5: 00 p.m. My other group is a mix of girls from different schools and churches who are all in the sixth grade. We meet every other Tuesday from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Each week, I look forward to sharing with them and them sharing with me.
I am praying that the Lord will start fifty of these groups by next December. Be a part of impacting this next generation. It is so worth it!

Lynn
