Good Monday Morning friends,
Hope you had a great weekend!
I often talk about mentoring young women here. I’d like to introduce you to a sweet almost 16 young woman I mentor. Her name is Alexandra. As I type, she is in surgery.
Here is Alexandra’s back:
She has a serve case of scoliosis. Right now, she is in a four hour surgery to have rods put in her back to straighten it.
Alexandra is an adorable girl who loves Jesus. I feel so confident that He is going to use this trial her life to build her history with Him. She will know that He is faithful and can be trusted.
Would you pray for Alexandra now? She will be in the hospital for four days and then have a two weeks period healing at home. On the third week, she will be able to start going to school half days. She needs strength, courage and a quick healing!
I can’t wait until she and my girl Madi are playing softball, swimming and doing all of the fun things they love to do together again!

Praying for this sweet young lady now. May she experience the overwhelming peace that comes when you are covered in prayer.
Father God, I would ask that you would fill Alexandra with your peace and comfort as she faces this surgery. Fill her family with your peace and comfort as well. Give the doctor’s wisdom and skill as they operate. Guide their hands and give them steady hands. Focus their thoughts on the work that is to be done on Alexandra’s back. We pray for a quick recovery and as pain free as possible. Use Alexandra’s story to honor and glorify yourself and bring others hope. Fill her with your words as she shares the story that you are giving her to share with others. Cause her light to shine brightly before the doctors, the nurses, her caretakers and other patients that she comes in contact with. And also with her friends and the kids at school. Glorify yourself in and through Alexandra, Wrap your arms around her and fill her with your peace that will pass her understanding. Come alongside Lynn and guide Lynn as she ministers to Alexandra. Use Lynn to encourage and strengthen Alexandra as she recovers and as she takes those first steps. I praise you and I thank you for Lynn and her heart for others. I thank you for being the centerpiece of this friendship and mentoring relationship. May they both learn more about you from each other. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.’ (Eph 3:20-21)
Lynn Cowell: once a teenager who found that God was more than a word, but a person who is love and all we need. Your life, Lynn, is a wonderful place of love for our grandaughter. Thank you LORD for how you do.

Alexandra is in my prayers today. I’ve been there done that…27 years ago I went through something very similar for my severe case of scoliosis also. If she needs someone to talk to who understands feel free to give her my information.

Our friend, Madi, who has a best friend named Alexandra (too funny!) has had similar surgeries … almost 40 of them in her short 15 years! Maybe your young friend would be encouraged by reading the blog that Madi’s mom keeps. Madi has been such an inspiration to so many … she’s a miracle in our eyes … and proof that anything is possible! May God bless Alexandra richly through this.

Lynn, praying for Alexandra and her parents. So happy to see her surgery went well. Grace’s friend, Madi had the exact surgery at the beginning of summer and it was a success. Her before and after pictures are very similar. Her recovery has gone very well, too.
What a brave girl Alexandra is, and I pray throughout this entire process she would be comforted by God’s love for her.
