Wednesday Wisdom Tip: 5 Verses to Pray EVERYDAY for Your Kids
Every day, I pray the same five verses.
Seem repetitious?
It is. But I am not stopping until I see each one of them come to past in all three of my kids’ lives.
Maybe you would like to see God do the same in the lives of your kids? If so, let’s pray together!
Pray that:
They will have clean hands and a pure heart:
They will seek the Lord with all their heart:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
They will have hearts that are soft toward God to follow Him:
They will have wisdom and know Him better:
They will take the Good News of new life in Christ to the next generation:
There is nothing easy about this investing in kids business, but one thing I do know, there is NOTHING my God cannot do through prayer and I am counting on it! The focus of my prayers is for them to lead lives that honor and bless Jesus. I trust that as they choose lives of obedience, the rest will fall into place!
Will you pray for your kids daily too?
Love this, Lynn! I printed the verses out so I can pray them for my kids, too. 🙂 Thank you again and again for the insightful & spiritually rich input you had in Laurli’s life years ago. Wish I could have heard you speak at Inspire…that night was my husband’s 50 birthday, so had the honor of focusing on him. 🙂 My friend Laurie G. was there, and said you did an amazing job! She bought your book, and has been telling me how great it is. Now I need to buy your book so I can do the best job possible with our youngest daughter, Hannah, who is 11 years old! Hope to see you sometime soon.
Blessings,
Julie
Julie, I saw your name and thought, “I wonder…!”
I wish I could have seen you at Inspire. I am glad Laurie G. enjoyed it!
Did you know that Laurli’s recommendation is listed in the front of “His Revolutionary Love”? You’d probably like seeing your girl’s name in print. I am working on my 3rd which comes out next fall. I am so excited!
You have some very precious girls, Julie! Keep pouring into them!
I love to pray Scripture over my kids, too! These 5 are great, because they pretty much cover everything! Planning to add these to my list. Thanks!
WOW!!! I really love this, thank you for putting it up. I struggle with praying for my kids on a daily basis and in this non spiritual world we live in when I do pray over them, sometimes they look at me like I am crazy. I so desperately want them to know that the struggles of life can be softened if they are not reaching for validation in this world but reaching for God’s approval. As two of my boys are in middle school and facing the tough challenges of acceptance of peers, I want them to know in their hearts that they are wonderfully and fearfully made, perfectly in God’s image and they don’t have to measure up to the “cool” kids images and they will still be okay. As our 18 year old moves out of our home and into the world at large, I pray that he remembers that God is his strength, not how good looking, how talented he is, as those can be taken away but that true security comes in the form being grounded in Him. This will help him navigate the temptations waiting for him outside our door, when we aren’t there at night, God will be.
Such a heart wrenching struggle that we want to walk through for them, but we can’t, so we pray. Your prayer along with Lysa’s prayers are incredibly helpful, as I struggle to know the right words to pray, you both lead me in a direction that answers that. So thankful for you all and your resources. God Bless!
This is EXACTLY WHAT I NEED—specific prayers/scriptures for my sons. I have been praying for them(along with my best friend as my prayer partner and for her sons). Both of us raised our sons in strong Christian environments but can’t understand why they have chosen to be distant from God now. It hurts our hearts tremendously. BUT because we know and love God and our sons, we will NOT give up on them or on God. I know that God sent me to this website to receive all the encouragement He knows that I (we) need for our children( who are ,by the way, in their 40’s!!) So thanks be to God for using you as a major instrument in providing the prayerful encouragement that is so needed. I will forever be grateful to you and to God!!!
Carolyn, I am in your boat too friend! Might I recommend the book “The Circle Maker”? It has rejuvenated my prayer life and given me the shot in the arm to keep believing and keep praying! GOD IS FAITHFUL!
I AM HAVING A HARD TIME. MY SON, WHO HAS ASPERGER,S SYNDROME, HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT. HE IS INNOCENT. ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY THAT THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL.
