Peace: Being Weird @ Christmas

When Jesus was just 12 years old, he was considered weird.

Just a kid, he was most comfortable hanging out in the temple listening and asking questions. It was so strange, it even made His mom and dad uncomfortable. (Luke 2:41 – 52). Yet, Jesus was perfectly comfortable; exactly where He needed to be.

Over the past few years, as my family has scaled back in our way, I know that to others, we’re just plain weird.

But that’s ok…weird is peaceful to me.

One way that I have found this peaceful place is by finding out what is most important to my family and doing those things. If other activities and traditions peaceful wind their way into our Advent month…great! But if not, it’s ok!

If you were to ask your family, if they could only choose two things that you just had to do this Christmas season, what would they say? Go ahead and ask and then share with us here!

And if you would like to know what my family said and enter to win a Willow Tree prize pack too, visit me as I am guest blogging today over at my friend Karen Ehman’s 12 Days of Christmas!

My kids said the son and daughter ornaments they always have gotten and the traditional breakfast I cook.

  2. I love Christmas eve, opening stockings. Eating too much candy. Baking sweet treats in preparation for tomorrow’s feast. So much fun! 🙂

  3. please share your traditions at Christmas!
