#GiveAway Day – I’m Done Keeping Score

If you are joining me here today from my Proverbs 31 Ministries Encouragement for Today, welcome! If you haven’t had a chance to read or listen to it yet, click HERE. We’re taking a break just for today from our Brave Beauty Birthday Bash!

If you haven’t read my devotion today, you might think I’m talking about keeping score about what others do to me. I’m not perfect, but that is not my struggle. My people pleasing pain comes from trying to keep track of my score in others’ eyes. Today I am further on this journey from being free than I have ever been before! I know this is what He wants for us; to be so confident in His love for us, we are not weighed down by the need for approval from others.

We cannot control whether or not another person records our every move. However, when we walk in Jesus’ light of love, extending forgiveness and mercy toward each other, we can do our part to keep the scoreboard broken. When we choose to look at others through the filter of Jesus’ light of love, we will see what Jesus sees.

Jesus’ light removes the dark filters of offense, entitlement and expectations. His light creates a safe place of love that’s quick to forgive when mistakes happen.

In today’s devotion, I share the offer for a free download of When Confidence is Challenged. To receive, just click here. This download comes from week 2 of my Bible study for women about women – Make Your Move: Finding Unshakable Confidence Despite Your Fears and Failures. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. We all have that I want to keep up with the Jones. But I learned early in life that what makes the Jones happy won’t necessarily make me help. We can’t keep score because my life can’t equal your life. Just like a basket of red apples are different then a basket of green apples. We just need to be still and listen for God’s plan.
