Friday Give Away!

An exciting new thing is on the horizon! Proverbs 31 Ministries is looking to update and revamp their ministry to teen girls. In order to do this right, we want to hear from teen girls! Could you help us to find out what girls need and how we can help them in their walk with Christ?

Below are some questions that we believe will do just that. Could you ask a teen you know to stop by and give us their thoughts or if you receive my blog via email, would you forward this to a friend? For helping us out, I will be giving one of our friends a subscription to Susie Mag.

Susie Mag is the newest magazine created by Susie Shellenberger. Susie is the creator of Focus On the Family’s Brio magazine. Susie Mag is packed with all the features Christian teen girls have counted on for years from Susie Shellenberger and her team. But Susie magazine aims to go beyond what they established in Brio by covering deeper, even more relevant, hard-hitting topics in addition to the regular features, topics that make a difference, that are life-changing, that help girls survive in the rugged world we are living in. I am very excited about being a contributing author for Susie in both the upcoming December and January issues.

So…here are the questions. You can either post them here…just click on ‘comments’ below or you can email them to me at [email protected]. On Monday, I will post our winner!

Have an amazing weekend! I’m hoping to see some amazing fall colors in the mountains 🙂

(~What are your top 3 needs right now in your life?)For my Dad to get a job, a really good friend, and to a deeper and stronger relationship with God.

(~What are the top 3 issues you face on a daily basis?)Loneliness, stress and bitterness.

(~What things/people/sources do you seek when making a major life decision?)My mom, prayer, and chocolate!!

(~What qualities make up the kind of relationships you are the most drawn to?) I look for people with the same sense of humor, that actually listen to me and can carry on a conversation. Fun, caring and loyal people that like me too.

(~What is your current view of God? (see Him as a Father, friend, good person, no opinion or tie to Him at all)) I see God mostly as my councilor at this point in my life. I see him as my Father when I need comfort or direction, and a friend when I am alone.

(~What kind of person do you respect? Why?)Somebody that really cares about me. That lives a joyful and loving life no matter what they have been through. This shows that you can learn a lot from them.

(~Do you believe in living with a purpose? Do you have one? Why or why not?)I think that everybody does and should have a purpose. Sometimes it is just hard to find that purpose. So far, I don't know my life purpose. But, I do know that I have one, I just haven't found it yet.

(~What is your current view of church/church people?)Youth leaders don't really CARE. A lot of them are rude or stuck up. Some are ok, but it's hard to figure out if they are for real or just putting on a face for church. A lot of kids are two-faced, leading a different life for Sunday and for school. It's really a surface faith for a lot of people. It doesn't get any deeper even when you get older. I think if those problems could be solved, church and church people would be a more welcoming to new people and to the lost.

(~Where do you see yourself in 10 years?)Married or in a serious relationship with a job.

(~What do you want the most out of life?) I'm not really sure. It's a big question and it's kind of hard to figure that out right now. I guess just to experience it!

  2. 1.) What are the top 3 needs now in your life?
Someone that shares my passion for Jesus and can help me grow in a relationship with him, a sense of knowledge to get out of things i don't need to get into, and a sensational love for everyone i come in contact with. (i really am a social butterfly, but i'm just struggling in making the right choices in that area!)

2.) What are the top 3 choices you face on a daily basis?
    Stress, rage, and sorrow.

3.) What things/people/sources do you seek when making a major life decision?
Bible, my decipliship leader, a good book, and food.

4.) What qualities make up the relationships you are most drawn to?
Humour, honesty, trust, and comman sense.

5.)What is your current view of God?
I see him as a father, a shepard, and a creator. I am struggling to think about his presence and being aware he's always near.

6.)What knid of person do you respect? Why?
I respect someone who obviously is constantly in God's word and shows nothing but adoration and love towards me.

7.) Do you believe in living with a purpose? do you have one? Why or why not?
I do believe in living for a purpose and, yes, i do currently have a purpose for my life. I feel God puts people in other people's lives to teach a lesson, for comfort, or for guidance.

8.)What is your current view of church/church people?
I am very encouraged by our church congrgation, as well as our church. My life is church, i am always attending it and i am always involved. I feel this way i can get to know the people of the church and get to a position where i understand things which are going on and understand people in particular.

9.)Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In a very good college, possibly with a boyfriend, and slowly working my way to become more like Christ.

10.) What do you want the most out of life?
I want to understand God, heaven, and christianity. I also want people to view me as a person who is humble and walked with
God all through my life! 🙂

~What are your top 3 needs right now in your life?
My top three needs in my life right now are:
    1) A mentor. I want a mature Christian that can teach me how to grow in my relationship with Jesus and also give me Bible based advice when I have problems.
    2) A good friend. I just moved to a new city, and I don’t know many people here. It’s hard for me to make friends because I’m a really quiet person. I want someone that is a true friend and we can take the journey of friendship together in Christ!
    3) A stronger, deeper relationship with Christ. I want to be able to be with him and talk with him all day!

~What are the top 3 issues you face on a daily basis?
    1) Comparison. I find myself comparing myself to other girls, which is a very dangerous thing to do!
    2) Laziness/Self-Control. I’m homeschooled, so I’m pretty much on my own schedule. If I don’t’ get something done because of laziness, I have to face the consequences!
    3) Complaining. I complain a lot, way more than I need to! It’s something that I really want to change. Being around someone that is always complaining is not cool. I don’t want to be that person!

~What things/people/sources do you seek when making a major life decision?
    1)Bible
    2)Parents
    3)Jesus
4)The other girls said food, and I’m guilty of that too!
    5) People that are experts in whatever decision I am making

~What qualities make up the kind of relationships you are the most drawn to?
    1) Honesty. Very important!
    2) Fun!
    3) People that can make me laugh. I love being around people that are funny. They just brighten my day up.
    4) Loyal. No matter what happens, they always got your back!
    5) Loving. I love people that can look past your faults and see the real you and don’t judge you from your appearance or what they think you might be like.

~What is your current view of God? (See Him as a Father, friend, good person, no opinion or tie to Him at all)
I currently view God as a Father although I sometimes feel distant from Him and forget how much he really loves me. I really want to grow closer to Him! I want to be able to call on Him confidently at anytime.

~What kind of person do you respect? Why?
I respect someone that knows who they are and isn’t afraid when to speak up, but also knows when to be quiet and listen. I also respect people that love Jesus so much that all they want to do is follow him and do what he wants them to do, not what they want to do.

~Do you believe in living with a purpose? Do you have one? Why or why not?
I do believe in living with a purpose. I think God has given everybody a purpose and a reason to live, but not everyone listens to what God has made them for. I know my purpose is to live my life only for God and nothing else. I don’t know why God has put me here on earth, but I want to find out!

~What is your current view of church/church people?
I LOVE my church! I honestly think it is the best church I have ever been to! When I was younger I was forced to go to church because my parents wanted me to go but I didn’t want to. All I wanted to do was sleep in. But when I became a Christian, my view of church changed and I actually wanted to go to church. The people at my church are so nice! I just started going to this church and I plan to stay here for the rest of my life, if I can!

~Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hmmm…In 10 years I will be 26. By that time, I see myself married, finished with college and maybe with a baby. But, God might have totally different plans for me. I also want to be in a closer relationship with Christ!

~What do you want the most out of life?
I want to live a “souled” out life for Christ! I know it’s gonna be hard and that there will be some sacrifices, but Jesus is the only way! I want God to be pleased with my life when it’s all said and done. Then one day I will be in Heaven with my Heavenly Father! Yeah!
