It’s Right There

I thought I lost it! One of the only things on this planet that is important to me. A single diamond necklace that Greg gave me to celebrate our twentieth anniversary three years ago. I looked on my necklace rack. Not there. Unpack my jewelery bag from last weekend’s trip. Not there. Pulled out my earrings. Not there. My heart was trying so hard to panic. What would I tell Greg? How could I possibly replace it? I prayed. Even though it is an earthly possession, I knew Jesus would still care about it.

I had the thought…go back and check again. Looked through my jewelery bag. Still not there. Back to my necklace rack. Hidden behind a bulky necklace, I caught a twinkle. My small jewel.

Do you have days where you wonder if you have lost something important to you? A company you enjoy is downsizing? Your child is heading down the wrong path? You feel like a gulf is growing between you and your husband? Maybe like me, you are simply not looking in the right place or something else is blocking you from having hope and you just can’t see past the fear?

Breathe deep. Choose to rest. Deuteronomy 33:12 says we are to rest between his shoulders. You know what is right between his shoulders? His heart! That, my friend, is a place of peace, warmth and love. What a cozy place to be!

  2. Between His shoulders…His heart..that is where we all must lay ourselves..for we are never lost there!!! Thank you!

  3. God used you to bless me yesterday as I have lost something precious, but I believe He will return her to fellowship with me. Only He can do it, and I am constantly battling the desire to do it myself. Resting between His shoulders is exactly where I need to be instead. Thank you.
