Lynn’s Top 4 Verses to Fill My Heart
Yesterday, I shared that the only way that we have any hope that our children will not look to people or things of this world to fill their hearts is if we fill it with Truth – Jesus’ truth!
When I go and speak at conferences, for teens or moms, I give out what we should be putting into our hearts and minds – God’s Word.
Below please find some of my very favorite parts of His love notes. When I was younger, I used to write these verses about on index cards. I would put them in my locker and swap them with an old friend (you might enjoy knowing who she was…Brenda Warner :). Known as the “Jesus Freaks” of our school, we encouraged each other every day to stand up for Him. Leaving high school, I still took my verses. I would read them on the way to class. As I grew up, my methods didn’t really change; only the place where I would stash my verses did. I distincly remember one day at my job, grabbing my verses out of my desk drawer and walking up and down the street in Greenville, South Carolina filling my heart with truth because I was so broken hearted. For me, it was something I had to have; I was desperate for Him.
I will type out the verses here, but if you would like, I would be happy to send the verses to you in the form I give to the girls. They are business card size with borders around them. Event planners will print them on bookmarkers or card stock and put them on a ring (think key chain). This way the girls can keep them handy and hopefully get them in their heart. If you would like to have those sent to you via email, just leave a comment on my blog at www.lynncowell.com with your email address and I will get them sent to you. (I’ll be sure to do it next week just as soon as Madi and I get back from our conference this weekend!)
God’s greatest to you!
Lynn

Hello. It was a pleasure to discover your blog. I absolutely enjoy reading the daily devotional at Proverbs31.
Furthermore, it was very interesting to find out that you walked the same streets I walked as a child and an adult–Greenville, South Carolina! I was born and raised there!
I went to Carolina High School ('83).
Thank you for your commitment to Jesus and our teens.
I have a teenage daughter and foster son. My daughter is 14 and my foster son is 15. I also a son whose about to turn 12 in a few weeks. I've never really gotten along with teenagers. However, lately God seems to be placing a special place in my heart for teenagers. Shhh! Don't tell my husband or church youth group leaders.
Thank you again!
Thank you Lynn. This is my first time reading your blog. I'm planning a special birthday celebration for my daughter who is turning 16. We have purchased her a purity ring and I'm trying to find some extra info on ideas. I love the verses on a key chain. I would love this sent to me. Thanks again

Lynn, I love this blog. I'm hooked and can't wait for your next message. So much in the world distracts us as parents so I know that our teens are constantly fighting to stay on course. You help make us stay focused and I truly appreciate that. I have 5 girls 16, 10, 7, 6 and 5 and know that it will take a great deal of prayer and focus to grow them up into healthy God loving girls w/out them being pulled by the enemy. I am determined to do EVERYTHING I can to make that happen. Your blog is a great stepping stone in that direction. I pray that you will be tremendously blessed for the work you are allowing Him to do through you. Thank you for letting Him use you this way. I look forward to many great lessons and would appreciate you emailing me these verses.
Warmest blessings, Kim
