When Going Without Feels Like More….

Hey Bloggy Friends,

I just have to share this with you…

Yesterday, finished my 21 day fast. (One week of liquids and two weeks of the Daniel fast).

Now, before you start thinking, “Why is she telling us that? Doesn’t the Bible say that when you fast you aren’t suppose to tell anyone?”. Well…I didn’t tell you while I was fasting! I’m done now! More importantly, the Bible also tells us: “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:11 (NIV). So this is the word of my testimony…

Before Christmas I had a crazy dream. Now, I don’t believe that all dreams are from God; some are from the pizza we ate the night before. I do, however, believe that some dreams are from God, just as He used them in the Old and New Testament (He is the same yesterday, today and forever). In this dream, I felt that God was sharing with me that some things in my life were stale; not fresh the way He wants them to be.

Then…my sister gave me the book “Fasting” by Jentezen Franklin. As I read it, I knew fasting was exactly what God was going to use to bring about that fresh in my life, if I would just obey.

The first week of my fast, I just can’t tell you the amount of hope, joy and anticipation that I had. I knew God is going to do something great this year. The word for my life and my family this year is freedom. He gave me such a peace that He would in fact, set each and every one of us free to truly know and experience His joy in our lives.

Being hungry caused me to crave more of God. More of His presence. More obedience. More of His leading in my life.

I believe the past three weeks have been just a glimpse of what He wants to do in 2011. I hope you will stick around, because as I see His hand, you’ll be the first to know!

Are you desperate to see a breakthrough in your life? Are you tired of status quo and want to truly see God move in you and your family? Ask Jesus if fasting is your fast track to seeing that come to past. Read Matthew 6 and see how Jesus Himself put fasting in the same list with giving and prayer in the life of a believer.

He has so much for us my friend! I know that I am desperate to have His best and as much as I can get of Him while I am on this earth. I hope He will put that same hunger and thirst for Him in your life as well.

Hugs from Jesus….
